Another day and another example of taxpayers being ripped off while illegal immigrants get a free handout. This time it’s the Boston suburb of Stoughton, Massachusetts, where the parents of 150 schoolchildren were informed at the last minute that their children would not be able to ride the bus to school. The school district cited “lack of funding and a shortage of buses.” But is that really all?
The 150 students at Stoughton Public Schools will have to find a fresh way to get to school before school starts on September 4, the Boston Herald reports. first reportedThe news comes at the same time that the state has begun funding buses for the migrant students of the more than 200 migrant families who recently moved into their community.
“Unfortunately, 150 secondary school students who had registered for a bus ride could not be put on a bus for the coming school year 2024-2025,” a letter The message sent to parents by school superintendent Joseph Baeta read: “Families not receiving bus transportation were notified this week. Those receiving bus transportation will receive their bus postcards the week of August 19th.”
The school district claims that the arrival of illegal immigrants, who we should all remember have no business being in this country, is not the reason for the shortage. I am skeptical. After all, funds are interchangeable, and school district money spent in one place can be spent in another. It’s all a matter of priorities. And we can clearly see where the state of Massachusetts’ priorities lie.
In the state of Massachusetts, there is no requirement to provide transportation for students in grades 7 through 12. However, the district is required to provide bus transportation to students. Living in hotels and emergency sheltersthe letter said. However, according to the superintendent, the arrival of migrant families in Stoughton is not the reason for the lack of buses.
“We use the funds provided by the state to the district to bus students living in hotels/homes,” the letter states. “The funds for these two buses do not come from our operating budget. It is inaccurate to say that these children getting the bus are the reason you did not get a bus. If we did not receive the funds from the state for students living in hotels/homes, we would not be able to have these two additional buses.”
Here is the onion:
“The district is experiencing an increase in enrollment in grades PreK-12, including our immigrant students, and unprecedented pressure in the areas of special education, transportation and services for English learners,” he wrote. “Our main priorities have been retaining faculty and supporting the large influx of students we have welcomed this year, including providing the English language learner services they need.”
“To accommodate this increase in our student numbers, we have had to make adjustments across the budget,” he added. “The situation remains fluid as we receive more information and advocate for additional funding from the state.”
The first level of this bullshit is the fact that the “migrant student population,” also known as illegal aliens, is even here, let alone causing this unprecedented pressure on things like traffic. That includes school buses, right?
The second layer of stench that needs to be removed is that they are pressuring the state to foot the bill. So it’s not bad enough that the parents and property owners of Stoughton have to foot the bill, but so do all the taxpaying citizens of Massachusetts?
The third, smelly and tearful layer is the number of people who now have no opportunity to bring their children to school.
“So how are 150 Stoughton students going to get to school now? I found out YESTERDAY that our son lost his seat on the bus along with 149 other students…this is Stoughton Pride,” said one parent. “They didn’t even offer us an alternative, like maybe a paid ride, which we would do because we have NO other way to get our son to school. This town disgusts me. So my child has to walk 3 miles to school and back, right on Route 138!?! We practically live in North Easton. What are all these families supposed to do!? Unbelievable.”
Like a real onion, the deeper you go into it, the worse it stinks. That sums up the whole immigration crisis: it stinks, it’s a burden on the taxpayer, and that doesn’t even take into account the problem of crime.

That, folks, is why we have school board elections – and elections in general. The Biden/Harris administration has not only been bad on the issue of illegal immigration, it has been completely absent. Their policy has been a non-policy, except when it comes to processing illegal immigrants entering the country even faster.
For taxpayers in Stoughton, Massachusetts, an ancient military acronym applies: THE GODDESS.
