The Republican National Committee (RNC) Lawsuit filed in August against the Detroit, Michigan, election commission, saying it violated the law by hiring more than seven times more Democratic poll workers than Republicans for the 2024 election.
Michigan is a swing state and its 15 electoral votes are crucial in the presidential election, so every vote counts. RealClearPolitics shows one extremely close competitionwith Trump currently only leading by nine points.
The RNC announced in an email Friday that it had prevailed in the matter:
The RNC, Michigan GOP and Wayne County Republican Committee chairs have won a major victory for election integrity in Michigan by working with the Detroit City Election Commission. As a result, Detroit has agreed to changes in its processes and protocols to employ at least one Republican poll worker at each site and as equal a number of Republican poll workers at each site as possible for the November election.
RNC Chairman Michael Whatley posted about it on social media:

In the RNC email, they explained the significance of the victory:
Thanks to the efforts of the RNC and Michigan Republicans, Detroit will now change its election processes to assign Republican poll workers to all polling places and to employ as many Republicans as possible in November. This will bring much-needed transparency and accountability to Detroit’s election system and ensure a more even number of Republicans and Democrats participate in Detroit’s elections – our election integrity operation will continue to fight and win in our nation’s most essential election.
