A senior US official speaking out has named a senior Defense Department official as the prime suspect in a high-profile leak of top-secret Defense Department documents to an account on the Telegram social media platform linked to the Tehran regime stands. Last year, I called for Ariane Tabatabai’s security clearance to be suspended because of her role in an Iranian information operation. Amazingly, she is still in her job.

At this point, the allegations against Tabatabai are just that. However, there is more than enough evidence to suggest that she should not be able to influence our policy toward Iran and its neighbors or gain access to classified information.
