Joseph B. Sweeney recently authored “Dangerous Injustice: How the Democrats Weaponized the DOJ to Protect Biden and Prosecute Trump,” drawing on his more than 25 years of experience as a CIA general counsel and intelligence officer. As his biography puts it, Sweeney was involved in our nation’s intelligence apparatus “from tip to tip,” giving him a unique perspective not only on national security, but also on the way our laws operate be applied in this area. Sweeney also has extensive knowledge of classified information and the criminal proceedings associated with its exploit and misuse. This knowledge and his decades of experience helped him create this detailed work. In the book, Sweeney compares the secret document cases against both the former president and the current president, offering unique insights into the ways the Democratic Party used our national security agencies to target and prosecute one , while she intervened on behalf of the other.
In my interview with Sweeney, he discussed how his thorough research into both cases, coupled with his insider knowledge of the legal process surrounding classified material, enabled him to offer detailed, dense, and engaging documentation not just of the cases, but how specifically our national security forces have been corrupted for these nefarious purposes. “Dangerous Justice” provides everyday American insight and evidence into how Democrats created this current atmosphere of weaponization and how we as a country must work our way out of it.
“I was happy to do it. You know, I didn’t write my book for fame or fortune,” Sweeney said.
“I did it because I couldn’t believe what was happening in my country. And I also couldn’t believe that there was no exact reporting of what was happening in my country. I was in a unique position to bring the truth to lightweight to people I hope will want it.
I believe that the American people both want and need the truth and credible answers; The current administration and the officials who run these particular agencies are in no mood to provide answers, making the timing of Sweeney’s book quite crucial. Sweeney delved deeper into why this book is crucial for all Americans.
REGARD:
When Sweeney worked for the CIA, he served under every administration from former Democratic President Bill Clinton to current Democratic President Joe Biden. If you do the math, the majority of that time was under Democratic government, with a Republican government in between. Sweeney gave some insight into the difference between working for both political parties:
“You know, that’s one of the things I saw,” Sweeney said.
“I have served in every administration from Clinton to Biden. I have been politically independent all my life. I ignored the politics that they never stopped running for office. They never stopped tapping into their political base and they never rolled up their sleeves and actually tried to run the damn country. Right. They were always just trying to score political points. Everything was about maintaining power. “
This aptly describes not only this current presidential election campaign, but also all of the Democrats’ destructive moves, from the justice system against former President and Republican candidate Donald Trump to election integrity in the states. Sweeney continued:
The Republican governments actually tried to run the country and they took hits for it, but they stopped campaigning. They stopped giving in and just tried to run the country. And I would like to see more of that.
We wouldn’t all do this, but if the Democrats get their way and things don’t go well for former President Trump, we may no longer have a country to govern. In interviews with Trump, Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance and with former national security officials like Kash Patel, they make a concerted effort to praise the character and work of rank-and-file agents while blaming national security officials for arming U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland or former intelligence director Kim Cheatle. However, Sweeney’s assessment of the blame was somewhat more nuanced.
REGARD:
With the election just weeks away, I asked Sweeney what he thinks we might see in a Harris-Walz administration compared to a Trump-Vance administration. His answer was insightful and quite sobering, not only about the mood of the country, but also about the nefarious aims of our two-party system in general and the Democratic Party in particular.

But we are currently stuck in a two-party system, and the rot is inherent in both. However, Sweeney explained why it is critically crucial that the Republican Party maintain control of the House of Representatives and gain a majority in the Senate. Sweeney also offered solutions for reversing the arms buildup and restoring sanity to our national security forces. What was most revealing about Sweeney’s solutions is that his assessment was based not only on his decades of experience as a CIA insider, but from the perspective of an American citizen who believed in the work he did as well as the inherent integrity of the country believed that he worked on.
