“Vindicating Trump” is the latest documentary offering from author, historian and filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza with his producing partner Bruce Schooley. The title takes a deep dive into the documented evidence of the years-long attacks on former President and Republican candidate Donald Trump, from the Steele dossier to the 91 indictments. However, it’s less of a warm-up and more of a re-familiarization. Through an interview with D’Souza just days after the July 13 attack in Butler, Pennsylvania, and through the views of Lara Trump, his daughter-in-law and co-chair of the Republican National Committee, as well as Trump’s lead lawyer, we get a different perspective Trump Alina Habba.
D’Souza also draws a comparison between the 45th (and possibly 47th) President and the 16th President Abraham Lincoln, as men who had insight into the state of the country and a vision of what it would take to solve the problem to fix. The interviews with former Presidents Lara Trump and Alina Habba are supported by news clips of Trump’s journey from the golden escalator to the 45th president to the 2024 candidate, interwoven with dramatic reinterpretations from the Never Trump wing of the Republican National Committee, the Democrat National Committee, the Justice Department and a Democratic campaign office. These dramatizations provide a deeper insight into the skullduggery used against Trump, coupled with some comic relief.
Since the four years of the Trump presidency and the 2024 presidential campaign have been an endless barrage of hearings, investigations and indictments, D’Souza quickly takes the audience through the shenanigans of the Democratic Left: Russia, RussiaRussia!, the mass surveillance, the censorship and collusion, to the targeting of Trump with attempted legal assassinations, the financial ruin and the promotion of speech that led to the assassination attempts against him.
Friedrich Nietzsche said: “What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger.” D’Souza says the attempts to destroy Trump have not only made him stronger, but also empowered charged. In recent months, Trump has achieved the status of folklore and legend. D’Souza draws an analogy by comparing Trump to the mythical hero of the American Western genre.
But the most sobering section of “Vindicating Trump” is the roughly 35 minutes devoted to election integrity. This is where “Vindicating Trump” takes on a crucial tone. The Democratic left despises Trump most because of his refusal to concede the 2020 election. While they want him and his surrogates to say it was a free and fair election, Trump has quietly rejected that. As the evidence from this election continues to emerge, it is becoming apparent that he was not wrong. Trump tells D’Souza that the Democrats are terrible at everything but exceptionally good at one thing. “They’re good at cheating elections,” Trump said. Habba also discussed the left’s imaginative and corrupt methods of influencing elections in their favor, particularly through lawfare. “It’s a new form of fraud,” Habba said.
D’Souza featured two election integrity experts: election integrity activist and founder of Midwest Swamp Watch Rick Weible and journalist Ernest White, who talked about how basic it is to purchase ballots and have them delivered to your home and a week’s worth of ballots Select a specific state (usually blue) and then employ voter rolls (which can also be easily purchased) to create additional voters to populate election night numbers. In addition to the horror of how convenient this is for bad actors, it’s equally horrific that attorneys general in blue states don’t want to protect their voting processes. Integrity activist Rick Weible said, “We value money more than our actual votes in this country, so we don’t have the same security on the ballot as we do on our dollar bills.”
Without the diligence of RNC co-chair Lara Trump and the work she and her co-chair Michael Whatley have done to support the 2024 election and ensure that all Americans can cast their ballot, it would be difficult to go home depressed go trust. Trump told D’Souza: “We have good people. I just want you to guard the vote. Make sure it doesn’t get mixed up, it doesn’t get thrown away, and bad things don’t happen.”
“Vindicating Trump” ends with a discussion of the real threat to democracy from the Democrats’ bloodless coup: Replacing President Joe Biden with Vice President Kamala Harris at the top of the 2024 Democratic ticket. D’Souza warns to stay away from Harris’ word salad and giggles to be deceived: it is a radical threat to our republic, along with the party that makes it possible.
