UP IN THE MORNING
Analysis: The end state of the presidential race
Perhaps the most frightening fact for the Harris team is that my buddy Cameron, that advocate of limitless pessimism, has come to make his final decision. He says emphatically that Donald Trump will be the 47th president. And that, my friends, means it’s time for the horizontally challenged lady to get ready to sing for Kamala Harris.

In the final days of this crazy election cycle, the contrasts couldn’t be greater. And the momentum seems to continue into the future Right Direction. To keep it that way, two very crucial things need to happen:
VOTE and PRAY. And then pray some more.

The home stretch
Vice President Kamala Harris is spending her Halloween campaign in Phoenix, Arizona, as well as Reno and Las Vegas, Nevada. Her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, is campaigning in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, on Thursday.
Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump will hold rallies in Albuquerque, New Mexico (New Mexico?!) and Henderson, Nevada on Thursday.
Full court press…
I know I sound like a broken record at this point, but theoretically the New York Court of Appeals could announce its decision in Trump’s civil fraud lawsuit today. We will pay attention to this.
A hearing has been scheduled for Thursday in the case that Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner brought against Elon Musk over his super PAC’s million-dollar gifts for signing his petition. However, Musk’s legal team has asked to be allowed to move the case to federal court, which could postpone the hearing.
Morning rumination
Happy Halloween everyone! As I sat here this morning writing and editing, I just looked over and realized I had forgotten to carve my pumpkin. Would be arduous to do this now as I’ve managed to injure my wrist (actually re-injuring/aggravating an injury from a few months ago). The good news is: the wrist is not broken. (Not that there ever is one Good Time for a broken wrist, but right now would have been it Really bad.) So I guess I’ll settle for my uncarved pumpkin. I’m looking forward to seeing all the children in their costumes tonight. Do you think any of them will wear a reflective orange vest?
