To start off, I’d like to share with you a piece from Brian Stelter, CNN’s newly minted media expert. He spoke to a network boss about the state of the media these days. Specifically, this high-profile media figure all but declared that the media had failed in its mission given that half the country (according to polls) supports Trump.
Anonymous TV executive: “If half the country has decided that Trump is qualified to be president, that means they don’t read any of this media and we’ve completely lost that audience. A Trump win means the mainstream media is dead in its current form.” https://t.co/zWiIqKYx1b

This is kind of stunning to watch. Not that we don’t believe they behaved that way, but to see this admission from the top of a network shows the extent of this effort. They see it as their mission to overthrow Trump, and this not only throws objectivity to the wind, but also chops up the truth and facts like bait and uses them as they see fit. This explains the slanted reporting we’ve seen this election season.
And Trump exposes their bias even more. After his visit to McDonald’s, where the press shamed themselves by saying the stunt was worthless and achieved nothing, they contradicted their own claims by obsessing over vilifying Trump for days. Nobody cares! screamed the outlets, making headlines in various categories for days – all about his drive-thru stunt that drove them crazy.
On Tuesday, CNN media guru @BrianStelter said THE RIGHT turned Trump’s McDonald’s publicity stunt into a three-day event. It is wrong to say that the left is obsessed.
Let’s have some fun and engage in journalism to find out where the obsession lies.
(We’ll exaggerate the irony at the end)

Now the press has been embarrassed for the last five days – because of rubbish. The hype and hysteria surrounding a comedian telling a joke was shameless, and then Joe Biden came along and pulled a Joe Biden that called half of America trash. Suddenly the press found itself in a quandary: How could they spin this faux pas, pardon President Silveralert, and at the same time advance the Puerto Rican offensive?! Answer: They couldn’t.
The desperation was great to see. Biden either never said that, or did he he did, but spelled it wrongor (my favorite) he spoke with an apostrophe! The White House fought and In the end, three different transcripts were issued tries to clear up Joe’s verbal confusion. And the press did everything they could to fix this fiasco. But the real problem was not only making Joe seem like he knew, but doing so completely overshadowed their desire to take down Trump because of a joke someone else had told.
The best way to see how targeted these press efforts are is that they try to portray it the way Biden said it had no influence on Kamala and the campaignbut a comedian’s joke reflects Republican/Trump policies and positions. Biden is the head of government, whose deputy is Kamala, but he has no influence on her agenda. A comedian, however, few had heard of before Sunday… THAT IS THE OFFICIAL WORD OF THE GOP!
Now Trump has completely turned that on its head by simply riding in a garbage truck, and the press can’t deal with the optics, and they can’t assist it. CNN edited out a segment about Kamala Harris taking a tongue bath to show Trump riding shotgun in a garbage truck. The media hates that he did this and can’t stop themselves from reporting on him at the same time. At CBS News, an attempt was made to claim that Trump was merely “trying” to steer the story with his truck stop – then Norah O’Donnell ignorantly exposed him again while working to stop this “stunt.” dismissing it, saying he had brought Biden no “mercy” for his verbal faux pas. (Oh, so he wasn’t directly talking about the comic’s commentary, we see.)
The best example of Trump freaking out the press and struggling to recover was on CNN. Your report from Trump’s rally in Wisconsin leaves the reporter deeply disturbed by his overall efforts that day. Listen to the comments from Kristen Holmes, who is clearly trying to recalibrate the fact that Trump’s moves have successfully pushed the narrative – and driven the press crazy.

This can only bother a reporter if there is built-in opposition to Trump and his successful media conquest is working. This shows the inherent opposition of journalists, coddled and encouraged by their editors, producers and executives. They’re selling the concept – as Stelter’s source admitted – that Trump is unqualified, while at the same time pushing the woman who hasn’t shown anything at all to show that she’s qualified.
Hopefully what this source says is true: that a Trump victory would mean the end of the industry. This is necessary. The problems with the press not only became apparent in 2024, they were exposed as a deep rot. The real problem is that few are even interested in fixing anything. At this point, a reckoning is needed because as they have shown, the press industry has been sabotaged from within and they have no desire to take restorative action to solve their problems.
