After denigrating half of America, the Obamas and Clintons are now making statements about grace

Now that President Trump’s overwhelming election victory is certain, statements about the president-elect’s victory are pouring in from luminaries around the world. The most recent to speak out on the issue are the Obamas and the Clintons, and while both expressed their love for our country and our democracy (which we all know is actually a republic), neither mentioned it that the four had vilified half of the electorate on a regular basis. It’s demanding to find unity and grace when they call Republicans – especially Trump voters – “conspirators.”Basket full of deplorables,” “bitter [folks who] cling to their weapons“, obviously fascist, “garbage” and much more.

But now they want us to turn around and play nice.

First the Clintons, their message was fortunately shorter than Obama’s and more to the point:

Billary started with a real blast:

Kamala Harris and Tim Walz ran a positive, forward-looking campaign that they can be proud of.

Positive? What was encouraging about claiming that their opponents were one of the most evil and mass-murdering totalitarian regimes ever to exist? Twisted.

“The American people have voted, and Donald Trump and JD Vance will be the next President and Vice President of the United States. We wish them well and hope they will govern for all of us.”

They added: “We must remember that America is bigger than the results of a single election, and what we do as citizens now will make the difference between a nation that advances and one that falls behind.” We must solve our problems together and seize our opportunities. The future of our country depends on it.”

That is nice. I’m sure a lot of people have an answer to that, but the Clintons don’t want to hear it. When you try to reply, the following is not possible:

Who can answer?

Accounts followed or mentioned by @BillClinton can respond.

I wonder if the reason for her closing comments is that just over two weeks ago, Hillary said of the now president-elect’s final campaign rally: “Trump [is] actually reenact that [Nazi] Rally at Madison Square Garden in 1939.”

Can you feel the love?

The Obamas’ statement was unfortunately lengthy and full of their usual passive-aggressive tone and gaslighting. They also congratulated Trump and told us how great the failed Harris-Walz campaign was, but they also threw out other garbage that wasn’t so good.

I read it so you don’t have to:

Barack and Michelle:

“This is obviously not the outcome we were hoping for, given our profound disagreements with the republican Ticket on a whole range of topics. But living in a democracy means recognizing that our viewpoint will not always prevail and being willing to accept the peaceful transfer of power.

I’ll skip most of the rest, but this paragraph doesn’t match her recent behavior:

“In a country as large and diverse as ours, we don’t always agree. But progress requires us to have good faith and trust – even towards people with whom we deeply disagree. This is how we have come this far and this is how we will continue to build a country that is fairer and more just, more equal and freer.”

Remember, it was only in October that Barack went into race-baiting mode, disparaging black men who weren’t planning on voting for Harris. He basically said they were misogynistic:

And you come up with all kinds of reasons and excuses, I have a problem with that.

Because part of it makes me think – and I’m speaking directly to men – part of it makes me think that you’re just not comfortable with the idea of having a woman as president, and you’re coming up with other alternatives and other reasons for that …

This is not acceptable.

It’s been clear this election cycle that the Clintons and Obamas have all lost their former glory. They seemed evil, bitter and full of anger towards half of their compatriots.

I’m not ready to talk about grace and unity yet, thank you. It will take me a few days to rejoice in this monstrous victory. We can talk later.
