Bernie Sanders joins the dogpile about the working class among the remnants of the Harris campaign

The accusations about Kamala Harris’ disastrous defeat by the resurgent Donald Trump keep coming, don’t they? The latest to join the bunch is the stupid senior Bolshevik from Vermont, Senator Bernie Sanders, who criticizes that the Democratic Party is failing working-class voters and that the working class is also failing the Democrats. He’s right about the last part – but for the wrong reason:

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders issued a scathing statement on what he called the Democratic Party’s “disastrous” election campaign, following Vice President Kamala Harris lost the presidential election to former President Donald Trump.

The independent, who works with Democrats, said it “should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party that has failed the working class would find that the working class has failed them.”

“First it was the white working class, and now it’s Latino and black workers too,” Sanders continued in his statement. “While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change. And they’re right.”

The Democratic Party has indeed failed working-class voters, but that is not because the working class is shying away from Bernie’s socialist policies. That’s because the Democrats have become the party of the coastal elites, the academics, and the dependent class, largely ignoring regular Joe Lunchbox Americans.

He says the American people want change. He’s right. But the reason they want change is not the lack of socialism. Senator Sanders is absolutely wrong about this. That’s not why Americans want change. It’s because of the socialism that has already been forced upon us – it has ruined the economy and people are fed up with it. Yes, Bernie, that’s true; They’re not backing down because the Democrats have failed challenging enough on socialism. How could that be? Every time socialist ideas have failed, the left’s response is, “We just have to do socialism.” Harder and we will win,” and that always costs them something; just look at Tuesday’s results. It was Kamala Harris’s incompetence that lost her the election, but the few mumbled, semi-coherent policy positions she could somehow describe were out there to the left of Fidel Castro.

In the donation (begging) email sent to supporters on Wednesday evening, Bern continues:

While the super-rich are doing phenomenally well today, 60% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck and we have more income and wealth inequality than ever before. Incredibly, the real, inflation-adjusted weekly wages of the average American worker are actually lower today than they were 50 years ago.

Equality of income and wealth play no role. They are, in fact, inevitable and largely due to generational differences; Older people have more work experience, more skills and higher salaries – they have also had more time to accumulate wealth.

It will take the left months to understand Kamala’s loss, and predictably – I mean, just look at Bernie – they will probably get it wrong.

My friend and colleague Jeff Charles saw it all coming:

The internal turmoil among Democrats is already brewing with Election Day on the horizon and the inevitability that this will be a very close race. Democrats are already looking for blame if Vice President Kamala Harris fails to defeat her opponent, former President Donald Trump.

While it’s not yet clear who will win the White House on Tuesday, it appears to be the Democrats panic about the prospect of losing to Trump.

And boy howdy, the blame game is in full swing.

Look, Bernie is kind of right about one thing: Democrats have largely failed working people in the United States. That much is certain. They don’t even seem to be aware of the problems Harris/Biden inflation is causing ordinary Americans, let alone know how to deal with them. For years, the left has ridiculed ordinary Americans as idiots, as imbeciles, as racists/sexists/homophobes/transphobes, etc. – when in reality most Americans are none of these things. We are anti-socialist, and that was proven on Tuesday.

But as always, Bernie has no idea how to win back this demographic.

We should still listen to the stupid senior Bolshevik from Vermont; In fact, he should be encouraged to speak at every opportunity. The behind schedule, great Rush Limbaugh regularly said that we should keep some socialists and “progressives” around and encourage them to talk, to remind us what these people are about. Bernie Sanders would be great in this role. He has the zeal of a true believer and is passionate, if not particularly articulate. He’s a great example of what we shouldn’t do; A sensible political candidate could do far worse than, when considering any political issue, look up what Bernie thinks and then take the opposite position. This way you will rarely go wrong.

Democrats will argue for months, perhaps years, about what went wrong in 2024. Let’s hope they never find out.
