Seth Meyers is pretty upset that America’s “stupid system” ended the legal battle against Trump

In addition to the joy of watching the left-wing media’s hysterical meltdown continue after President-elect Donald Trump’s historic defeat by Vice President Kamala Harris in Tuesday’s election, there is also humor in watching their childish attacks on America’s legal and constitutional systems observe.

On Thursday’s episode of ABC’s “Late Night With Seth Meyers,” the dejected host clearly expressed both his bitterness and his lack of understanding of the justice system.

Responding to Republican calls to end the endless effort to prosecute Trump, Meyers said (emphasis mine):

[Y]You know what? You’ll probably get your way because The Supreme Court granted Trump immunity and the DOJ has a stupid policy of not prosecuting sitting presidents and that stinks. We have one stupid system that essentially makes being elected president like getting a get out of jail free card.

Stop the tape.

Meyers makes it seem, no doubt intentionally, that the Supreme Court explicitly granted Trump immunity.

Meyers was completely wrong on several counts.

First, The Supreme Court never ruled that a president is immune from criminal prosecution. Second, the presumption of immunity is based on long-standing U.S. Department of Justice policy dating back to 1973 and reaffirmed in 2000 Sitting presidents cannot be tried or imprisoned while in office.

While Meyers might think the policy is “stupid” or “stupid” in Trump’s case, does anyone on the planet think they would take the same position if we were talking about one democrat President? The question is rhetorical in nature; of course not.

Meyers continued, trying to be entertaining and failing miserably.

You have to add one to Monopoly that says, “Run for president. Win, collect $200.” And then a second card that says, “If your name isn’t Rudy Giuliani, you’re still broke and shut out and weird.” And in fact, Justice Department officials are already preparing to to meet the demands of the Republicans.

Ignorance, extraordinary.

Justice Department officials were Consideration is being given to how the two federal criminal cases against Trump can be dropped before he takes office in order to comply with the guidelines I listed above.

Meyers continued to spit.

Lawyer and journalist Paula Reid attempted to educate Meyers about the efforts of special counsel Jack Smith, whose persistent utilize of Lawfare against Trump was obviously political.

I have been told that Jack Smith is someone who understands that he must follow all of the Department of Justice’s rules and regulations. Therefore, they are currently looking for ways to stop this. I’m told it’s unclear when this will happen… I’m told that according to my source, formal discussions have begun in earnest today and it will be several days before they figure out exactly what that looks like.

Bingo.

Yet Meyers continued to be idiotic, praising embattled Attorney General Merrick Garland, who, in my not-so-humble opinion, should share a federal prison cell with lying Interior Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who has been allowing illegal immigrants across the southern border since the early days of the Biden-Harris administration .

Take it away, Seth.

You know, not everything the Democrats have done in the last four years has been great. But One thing you can’t complain about is the deliberate pace with which Merrick Garland prosecuted Donald Trump. I mean, he dotted his I’s and crossed his T’s, then he dotted his T’s and crossed his I’s.

Then he crossed out his I’s and replaced them with T’s, then he crossed the right eyes and put dots on his T-shirt, and sure enough, At the end of four years there is literally nothing left to show for it. But is that what a Justice Department is actually there for, for results? Or is it about the journey?

Pretty great that by winning the presidency you can get away scot-free from your numerous lawsuits. Justice will be served.

Even Meyers knows it that if this were Barack Obama or Joe Biden, he would be singing a different song.

The hypocrisy of the left knows no bounds. Neither does willful ignorance of the facts.
