Fetterman attacks Nancy Pelosi with some brutal truths about Biden and also defends Trump supporters

I previously reported on some surprising comments from Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) regarding President-elect Donald Trump’s nominations for positions in his administration.

What’s fascinating about the senator is that he’s willing to admit certain truths even when many on his side won’t. He is willing to support Republicans and call Democrats out on missteps.

For example, he acknowledged before the election that Trump would be powerful in Pennsylvania, a critical state. He reiterated the “special connection” he believes Trump has with the people of the state an interview with Politico.

Fetterman pointed to the “Walmart of Trump Swag” in western Pennsylvania, where “people arrive at 9 p.m. and buy Trump gear” like “fireworks on July 3rd”:

Fetterman said billionaire Elon Musk’s endorsement of Trump also mattered – and that Democrats looked “weak” when they unsuccessfully tried to stop his $1 million fundraiser to voters. He also said that the Trump assassination attempt in Butler, a 45-minute drive from his home, “changed everything.”

“Immediately afterward, as I was out and about, I saw people wearing customized T-shirts with that image on them,” he said, referring to the iconic photo of Trump raising his fist after being shot. “It’s like, ‘They tried everything. They charged this man and put him on trial. You know, the media. And now they tried to kill him and he survived.’ And he had the presence of mind to react at all, and he created that. What if that were the case? [Barack] Obama? Can you imagine what that would have meant for Democrats?”

This is all so true, but you don’t expect a Democrat to acknowledge it. He recognizes how crucial this moment was for many people, especially local people.

Fetterman also made it clear that he would not demonize people for voting for Trump. He spoke out against the Democrats’ tactic of calling Trump supporters “fascists.”

I love people who will absolutely vote for Trump. They are not fascists. They are not. I think when you go on the tickle switch and exploit terms like that, it’s pretty demanding to come back to those things.

That’s something like a word that doesn’t actually appear in the vernacular of voters. Swearing harder or clutching the pearls tighter will never work for Democrats.

Fetterman also spoke out against demonizing or dismissing juvenile men by portraying them as “brothers” in demeaning ways: “For example, they are uncultured, they are superficial, or they are crass. And we are releasing them,” he said.

This is exactly the right thing. That’s why some juvenile men found much more in common with Trump and JD Vance after hearing them on podcasts like Joe Rogan. Fetterman said he didn’t “understand why you wouldn’t be on Rogan,” an implicit criticism of Kamala Harris, who had avoided appearing on Rogan’s show.

I’ve always been a long-time fan of his. I don’t agree with him on everything. But don’t we all have a responsibility to question our views and participate in conversations with people?

42 million people witnessed the Trump interview [with Rogan]. The power that the platform he created has – to ignore that – I can’t imagine why anyone would do that.

Then Fetterman let loose on how former House Speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) handled Joe Biden being sidelined, but now they tried to blame Biden for Harris’ defeat:

People like [Nancy] Pelosi, she really tried – what word am I looking for? – She adopted this “She is the godmother, she is the enforcer” thing. And now she blames Biden. Well, you can’t have it both ways. You got what you wanted and now you’re still blaming Biden.

I find it really ironic that there is a woman who is 84 years aged and she is still hanging on. Why not give a younger generation the chance to take that seat?

Ugh, that’s a brutal truth. What a way to say, “Go ahead.”

All of this was in the hands of those in power. First, they wanted us to believe that there was nothing wrong with Biden; he was the hottest of all time. When that exploded after the debate, people suddenly rose up to speak out against him and oust him from office. And they never gave anyone the opportunity to replace him, and people never had the opportunity to vote for the final candidate. They screwed up across the board, so they can’t just blame him.

Good thing Fetterman brought that up and how Nancy was convinced by the outcome of what she wanted.
