Joe Biden’s presidency is full of pretty embarrassing defining moments, including his triple fall while climbing the stairs of Air Force One, the infamous Red Speech in which he called half the country MAGA extremists, his disastrous 2024 presidential debate with Donald Trump, and the It Was A incredibly disturbing moment when he called out for a deceased Republican congresswoman during a White House event.
Some of these were repeated attempts by reporters to get his attention, something we’ve seen often during Biden’s nearly four years in office, where his bosses have often intervened aggressively to shield him from those who, like him, want answers to shouted questions get try to go or go back to the White House.
Here’s one such moment from April:
HAPPENING NOW: President Biden is traveling to Wilmington, Delaware for a campaign event.
He appears to be using his aides and staff as a shield to prevent him from answering questions from the press.

As we reported at the time, the strategy was refined in 2024 to further restrict media access to Biden, at a time when more questions were being asked about his age and suitability to lead the country. That was Completed Not only to keep Biden away from the press, but also to prevent voters from seeing him shuffle across the White House lawn.
Here we are now, about two months before Biden’s only term ends, and we have another one of those defining moments to report on, namely when Biden prepared to board Air Force One after his G – 20 summit tour. A reporter became increasingly desperate, shouting to get him to answer a question they said was a “birthday present” for the media (Biden’s birthday, when he turns 82, is November 20th ):
“Mr. President, happy early birthday. Would you speak to us on your birthday, sir? As a gift to the press, could you please speak to us? Mr. President. President Biden. Please, we have nothing of this the whole trip Belongs to you Mr. President!!!”
He never answered.
Regard:
“Mr President, happy early birthday. Would you like to talk to us on your birthday, sir? As a gift to the press, would you please speak to us? Mr. President. President Biden. Please, we haven’t heard from us yet.” You’re all tripping, Mr. President!!!! pic.twitter.com/8OfgIkuP3Z

As it turns out, the reporter had a point. Biden hardly talked to the media throughout his trip to South America for the summit:
During a six-day foreign trip to Peru and Brazil that ended Monday, the president rarely spoke in public and answered almost no questions despite repeated attempts to engage him. A television producer began writing messages on a large pad of paper and held it up as Biden boarded and exited Air Force One.
“Xi?” One said, a silent request that Biden discuss his views Meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. “Ukraine???” Read another, amid reports the president had authorized the launch of US long-range weapons to Russia.
When reporters are reduced to shouting questions and scribbling keywords on a notepad to get the attention of the supposed leader of the free world, you know that’s bad.
Only eight weeks of this and that change are just around the corner…
