Bend the knee: Now Mark Zuckerberg is making a pilgrimage to Mar-a-Lago

Mark Zuckerberg is known to be the co-founder of the social media site Facebook and its parent company Meta Platforms and is currently the chairman, chief executive officer and majority shareholder of the tech giant. This makes him a mega-billionaire, and all of this makes him very powerful, whether we like it or not.

In fact, we on the conservative side largely didn’t like it all because his company and resources were behind some of the most underhanded censorship efforts we’ve seen in the Big Tech era in the 2020 election. Its platforms actively suppressed The Hunter Laptop Story Biden and his companies pumped “more than $400 million that Zuckerberg spent to help finance local elections in a ‘carefully orchestrated attempt’ to influence the 2020 election.”

Big Tech has not been a fan of media outlets like RedState, and companies like Google and Facebook routinely demonetize or throttle us when we say something they don’t like.

It is therefore somewhat surprising that the tech overlord bent the knee and visited President-elect Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago last week:

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg visited Mar-a-Lago on Wednesday, just months after the tech entrepreneur publicly praised President-elect Trump following the July 13 attack.

Zuckerberg’s visit to Trump’s club in Palm Beach, Florida, was confirmed by Trump adviser Stephen Miller during an episode of “The Ingraham Angle” on Fox News Channel.

“Mark Zuckerberg has been very clear about his desire to be a supporter and participant in this change that we’re seeing across America and around the world with this reform movement that Donald Trump is leading,” Miller told guest host Brian Kilmeade .

“Mark Zuckerberg, like so many business leaders, understands that President Trump is an agent of change, an agent of prosperity.”

It’s not the first time that Zuckerberg seems to be hinting that he’s changing his mind: In July, after the oh-so-near assassination attempt on the then-candidate failed, Zuckerberg praised the former and future president:

“In some ways, as an American, it’s hard for me not to get emotional about this vibe and this fight, and I think that’s why a lot of people like the guy,” he added.

Meta’s CEO even admitted that his company had made a mistake by “mislabeling” a photo of the now-iconic assassination attempt:

Zuckerberg’s visit to Mar-a-Lago is not the Facebook founder’s first interaction with the Republican leader. In August, Trump told FOX Business host Maria Bartiromo that Zuckerberg called him to apologize about an error.

“So Mark Zuckerberg called me. First he called me twice. He called me after the event and said this was really amazing,” Trump said during an Aug. 1 “Mornings with Maria” interview on FOX Business. “It was really brave.”

“And he actually announced that he won’t support a Democrat because he can’t, because he respected me for what I did that day,” the Republican continued. “I think what I did…was a normal reaction for me.”

Trump added that Zuckerberg apologized after Facebook mislabeled a photo of him that went viral.

While I think this is welcome news and we can hope that Zuck has indeed changed his mind, I’m not stupid enough to suddenly be a Zuckerberg enthusiast. He has shown too often in the past that he is willing to censor conservatives and exploit his significant powers to influence elections in favor of the Democratic side. He is a known opportunist, and he sees the writing on the wall – namely that the progressive movement is failing at this point in history and the Trump movement is on the rise.

Maybe a leopard can change its spot. Maybe Facebook/Meta will stop censoring, throttling and manipulating data, but this one visit to Mar-a-Lago isn’t enough to convince me. So far, Trump has been magnanimous towards his recent enemies – see the complete reconciliation (humiliation) of Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski – but it remains to be seen whether Zuckerberg is just making a desperate move to avoid consequences for his past actions, or whether he is tut is truly committed to changing the toxic, censorious environment he helped create.

Make me skeptical.

We will continue to fight Big Tech’s efforts to censor us, whether Zuckerberg has seen the lithe or is just giving in.
