President-elect Donald Trump clearly intends to begin implementing his agenda well before Inauguration Day.
For example, he met with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at Mar-a-Lago on Friday. Presumably much of their conversation revolved around Trump’s threat to impose a 25 percent tariff on Canada over its failure to stop illegal immigrants and illegal drugs from flowing across the northern border into the United States. An unlikely alliance could be brewing between Trump and Trudeau, one whose popularity is waning and where heated arguments lie ahead Competition by conservative leader Pierre Poilievre.
Any player on the international stage who wants to remain relevant during Trump 2.0 would be wise to follow Trudeau’s lead and seek an audience before the modern president’s inauguration. Trump has agenda goals that extend far beyond the borders of the United States, and he makes known what those goals are.
Despite one rocky relationship In the past, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) appeared to emerge as one of Trump’s key allies in implementing the president-elect’s foreign policy agenda. Graham allegedly “frequently speaks with Trump and advises him on foreign policy issues, particularly in the Middle East,” and has made it clear that the modern Trump administration wants action at the moment on the question of a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of all hostages.
According to this modern report, Trump wants all of this to happen before Inauguration Day:
“Trump is more determined He is more than ever committed to the release of the hostages and supports a ceasefire that also includes a hostage deal. He wants it to happen now,” Graham said.
- “I want the people of Israel and the region to know that Trump is focused on the hostage issue. He wants the killing to stop and the fighting to end.”
- He added: “I hope that President Trump and the Biden administration will work together during the transition period to release the hostages and reach a ceasefire.”
Graham recently returned from his second trip to the Middle East this month, where he met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. One of the takeaways from that visit was Graham’s conclusion that the Gaza situation needed to be resolved before the Trump administration could focus on issues such as “Israel-Saudi normalization and a regional alliance against Iran.”
As RedState reported, releasing the hostages held by Hamas has long been a goal of Trump’s:
One of the things that concerns Trump is the question American who are still being held hostage in Gaza. To be clear, there is no doubt that bringing these hostages home is a top priority for the modern Trump administration. At the Republican National Convention in July, just days after he was shot in Butler, Pennsylvania, the former/future president made his name known to the world upon notification that taking hostages under his supervision will not be tolerated:
“To the whole world, I say this: We want our hostages back, and they better be back before I take office, or you will pay a very high price,” Trump warned in his speech.
According to Graham, these goals remain his priority: “Trump is more determined than ever to release the hostages and supports a ceasefire that includes a hostage deal. He wants this to happen now. I want the people of Israel and the region to know that Trump is focusing on the hostage issue. He wants the killing to stop and the fighting to end.
To achieve this before Inauguration Day, the Biden administration would have to make a vigorous effort to bring about a ceasefire and the release of hostages. Biden has specified He would like to achieve this, but his actions, as reported by our own Ward Clark, seem different:
In its final weeks, the Biden administration and Old Joe himself — or at least whoever is pulling the strings — are becoming more and more I don’t have control over my thoughts President – will certainly make every effort to screw over America’s best ally in the Middle East. In the latest news on this front, the administration on Monday released information about a list of sanctions against Israel, while also announcing that it would pour $230 million in American taxpayer money into the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
With fifty-five days until Trump becomes president again, Joe Biden doesn’t have much time left to accomplish his greatest achievement of his time as president. Trump’s behind-the-scenes machinations might make it possible right now, but if not, it will certainly be a top priority come January 20, 2025.
As Trump spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt told A source: “The American people trust him.” [Trump] to lead our country and bring stability and peace back to the Middle East. When he returns to the White House, he will take the necessary actions to accomplish just that.”
