President-elect Donald Trump made the announcement on Saturday Appointment of Devin Nunesthe CEO of Truth Social, will become chairman of the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board. The announcement was made on Trump’s social media platform Truth Social, where Nunes serves as CEO. In the post, Trump confirmed that Nunes would continue to stick to his position leadership position as CEO and director of Trump Media and Technology Group as he assumes the fresh role.

Trump wrote:

I am pleased to announce that I will be appointing Truth Social CEO Devin Nunes to chair the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board, comprised of distinguished citizens outside of the federal government. While Devin continues to lead the Trump Media & Technology Group, he will draw on his experience as a former chairman of the House Intelligence Committee and his key role in exposing the “Russia, Russia, Russia” hoax to provide me with independent assessments of the effectiveness and of fraud to provide adequacy of the activities of the US Intelligence Community. Congratulations, Devin!

Nunes is a former congressman who served as the Republican representative for California’s 22nd Congressional District from 2003 to 2022. During his tenure in Congress, Nunes led the House Intelligence Committee, where he became a prominent defender of President Trump during the investigation into the “Russian” collusion hoax following the 2016 presidential election.

Most recently, Nunes allied with Trump during the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago. He described it as another example of the Democratic Party’s attempt to politically target and “destroy” Trump. Nunes successfully predicted the federal indictment of Trump and criticized the Justice Department for “slow dissemination” of evidence to manipulate public perception.

Late last month, Nunes released a statement He congratulates Kash Patel, Trump’s nominee to lead the FBI, and writes:

Kash is an extremely talented attorney and investigator with an unwavering commitment to our Constitution and an excellent choice for the position of FBI Director. Kash and I worked closely together to expose the saboteurs within the intelligence community who perpetuated the Russia collusion hoax. Based on this experience and his service in key positions in the first Trump administration, I know that Kash has the intelligence and fearlessness to expose corruption in the FBI, reverse its harmful politicization, and restore Americans’ trust in the FBI’s fundamental honesty. Those who denounce the darkness at the FBI can now rest assured that lightweight will soon shine through.
