Things That Went Under the Radar: Biden Backtracks on Title IX Changes — Here’s Why

As my colleague Bonchie reported, the Biden-Harris administration decided Thursday to drop its April 2023 Title IX rule changes designed to force schools to accept biological boys Girls sports. The rule would have outlawed state bans on participation in women’s sports based on biology, penalized those states by withholding funding and even imposed criminal penalties.

In April 2023, Biden officials filed an amendment to Title IX regulations that would have effectively prevented states from banning men from participating in women’s sports. Reasonable jurisdictions committed to protecting the safety of women and the fairness of single-sex sporting events would have been overridden by recent federal regulations.

This proposal is now dead in the water.

The Department of Education has withdrawn its rule changes regarding “gender identity” in athletics, according to a news release Friday afternoon.

In his withdrawal document, the ED writes claims,

“In view of the comments received and the various pending legal proceedings, the Ministry has decided not to make any regulations on this issue at this time. Therefore, the ministry hereby withdraws athletics.” [notice of proposed rulemaking] and terminates this rulemaking proceeding.”

The Biden-Harris administration’s latest request to allow enforcement of some provisions of its revised Title IX was rejected by the U.S. Supreme Court, and with half the country (25 states) suing them, they were already fighting a long uphill battle.

Virginia Foxx, chairwoman of the Education and Workforce Committee, further stated:

In brief: The Biden-Harris Administration’s attack on women and women’s sports is still underway and I look forward to working with the Trump Administration and my Republican colleagues to fight to protect women’s sports.

If President-elect Donald Trump hadn’t won, this definitely wouldn’t be happening. With a Trump-Vance administration comes a promised purge of not only the Department of Education, but also the Department of Justice (DOJ). This means that these activist attacks on the American people through regulation and jurisprudence will hopefully stop.

Then you have the Senate dismantling of NCAA President Charlie Baker, who was simply hired to continue this activist and trans sports agenda. In particular, Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) had Baker crawling on all fours and begging for mommy. Baker’s statement clearly reflected the lack of reasoning and common sense in this campaign to punish women for the benefit of a petite percentage of men.

Finally, the SCOTUS oral arguments in early December USA vs. Skrmettithe case challenging Tennessee’s right to ban “gender-affirming care” was also eye-opening. While it is hard to read the SCOTUS tea leaves these days, the arguments and testimony showed that anyone advocating and co-signing on child mutilation for any reason needs to have their head examined.

This is also echoed by other countries, including the UK and Italy, which are blocking the operate of puberty blockers for minors and appear to be backing away from the transgender children nonsense.

Apparently reason was on the ballot, and fortunately reason won. Hopefully, one of President Trump’s executive orders will be to completely repeal Biden’s revised Title IX and reinstate the original Title IX law.
