Sometimes the phrase “the blind leads the blind” just doesn’t quite apply. Sometimes it’s more about the clueless leading the clueless, or at least the clueless commenting or giving advice to the clueless; and you have to admit, getting political advice from Jen Psaki is like getting culinary advice from Jen Psaki Alfred Packer.
MSNBC anchor Jen Psaki scolded Democrats for missing a “great opportunity” to learn lessons they should have learned from their brutal 2024 election defeat by electing juvenile, “media-savvy” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y. , the Democrats would have passed over the House Oversight Committee for the top spot.
“Instead, they elected Congressman Gerry Connolly, a much older member who was supported by Speaker Emeritus Nancy Pelosi,” the former Biden press secretary said during a recent broadcast of “Inside with Jen Psaki.”
Multiple choice question: The Democrats chose Gerry Connolly because he:
- Much less intrusive
- Less of a left-wing ideologue (remember, this sets the bar very, very low)
- Is from a swing state (VA) or at least a state that can slowly become a swing state
- Much less polarizing, partly because no one outside of VA-11 has ever heard of him
- All of the above.
Yes, you guessed it; The answer is 5. Jen Psaki wasn’t done yet:
“Why does this matter?” she continued. “This is one of the few committees in Congress that actually gets national attention or media coverage. Under Jamie Raskin, it became a crucial platform for countering Republican misinformation. And while I have great, deep respect for Speaker Pelosi… and nothing against Congressman Connolly.” Overall, this seemed like an obvious chance to apply some of the lessons we should have learned from the November election.
“Instead, Democrats passed over one of the youngest and most media-savvy members of Congress for a key public leadership role.”
Jamie Raskin? She holds up Maryland Rep. Jamie Raskin as a model of Democratic political skill? Really? The same Jamie Raskin who just last summer advocated for a… actually rebellion, even a civil war, to prevent Donald Trump from taking over the presidency again regardless of the election outcome? The same Democrat Jamie Raskin who wanted to destroy the electoral process and plunge the United States into open rebellion – because believe me, that’s exactly what would happen – by arbitrarily overturning the will of the American people, who clearly and unambiguously want Donald Trump back in the fold wanted to have office?
Well, if that’s the model, it’s effortless to see why Jen Psaki prefers AOC for this role.
Turns out Psaki wasn’t the only Democrat whining about it:
Chad Pergram, Fox News senior congressional correspondent called the appointment a “blow to the youth movement within the Democratic Party” as the divide between juvenile and elderly threatens to drive a “wedge” through the Democratic coalition.
Former Biden challenger Rep. Dean Phillips, D-Minn., who will soon be retiring from Congress, has criticized the party for shying away from younger talent within the party to preserve the elderly guard.
“It’s time to highlight the best and brightest. We’ve literally stopped them from advancing into leadership positions, which means they’re going somewhere else. And if we lose that kind of talent in ambitious, competent and patriotic juvenile Americans, we’re in trouble,” he said.
Well, if it’s the best and brightest thing they’re looking for, it’s effortless to see why they chose someone other than AOC.

The progressive wing of the Democrats does not (yet) understand that they are the main reason for the Democrats’ electoral losses in this election and continues to operate on several misconceptions. First, they still believe that the reason for their losses is the messaging and not the message; they confuse noise with content; they confuse movement with purpose; and they confuse ideology with intelligence. They will continue to lose elections until they figure this out.
Let’s hope they never get it.
