Joe Biden’s legacy will be that of a criminally incompetent moron, and nothing can change that verdict

Joe Biden’s inner circle tried in court on Saturday to prevent the death of Jimmy Carter, knowing full well that he was not the worst president in American history. In an article on the front page of the Washington Post on the day of the week with the lowest readership, Biden’s advisers tried to improve their future employability as well as make their soon-to-be ex-boss look good (Joe Biden’s lonely struggle to sell his vision of American democracy – The Washington Post). My colleague Nick Arama reported on some of the highlights on Saturday, as well as the preview we got on Friday.

Let’s take a quick look at Biden’s vision.

Biden was a victim of politics being more crucial than style.

“I’ve come to the conclusion in the last few days that I’m wrong about this,” the 84-year-old South Carolina Democrat recalled telling Biden. “The new environment we currently live in – style seems to dominate more than substance.”

“Your style,” he told the president, “does not fit well with the environment we currently find ourselves in.”

Clyburn’s conclusion — shared by concerned Democrats in the months before the president ended his reelection bid — undermined Biden’s theory of presidential leadership. After Donald Trump’s rise, Biden believed he just had to show Americans that conventional democracy still worked — by listening to experts, working with Republicans and adopting popular policies — and that voters would rally around him.

If Biden had anything of substance, and this is a very controversial position, it was his utter contempt for half the country. He set out to corrupt federal law enforcement (more on that in a moment) and enslave the executive branch to the forces of racial division and even hatred.

Biden was too deep a thinker to be appreciated lumpenproletariat.

“The president operates on a time horizon measured in decades, while the political cycle is measured in four years,” Jake Sullivan, Biden’s national security adviser, said in an interview.

Sullivan added that it will naturally take a long time for Biden’s achievements to bear fruit. “How to govern in this moment to prepare the U.S. for long-term success has one answer, and how to govern to deal with midterm and presidential elections in the very short term may have another answer,” he said. “The president did the things that really put America in a strong position.”

This is possibly the most ridiculous point in the article and is best thought of as Jake Sullivan interviewing for a think tank job or university lecturer position. At best, Biden’s actions were short-sighted and, like his, focused on immediate gratification whines about not signing the COVID relief check; “During the same speech in Brookings, Biden said he was “stupid” not to sign his name to the COVID stimulus checks distributed to Americans early in his term.”

He has accumulated trillions of dollars in national debt, increased inflation, and driven up prices faster than inflation. He went almost 8% of the American workforce are either unemployed, underemployed or have dropped out of the labor force. He opened the borders to a flood of illegal immigrants, including many criminals. Women and children in this migrant stream were subjected to sex trafficking with such vigor that one would almost think Hunter Biden was in charge.

In terms of foreign policy, Biden actively supported Iran in its attempt to become a regional hegemon. He kowtowed to Russia and China. We’ve heard their defense before. They believe that Russia, Iran and China will eventually become partners with the United States, and so we don’t want to do anything that could really upset them. China remains unchallenged in Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Western Pacific and the Caribbean. U.S. diplomatic power is at an all-time low, virtually guaranteeing future wars to solve problems that diplomacy should have solved.

Nothing Biden has done economically or diplomatically has any long-term purpose that makes America stronger.

The news media prevented Biden from getting credit for anything he did.

He has also reflected on changes in the media and argued that his achievements, particularly in business, have not been sufficiently recognized. But when giving examples like Richard M. Nixon’s 1960 debate against John F. KennedyBiden has suggested that, like Nixon, he has found it arduous to adapt to a recent media landscape.

It would have been impossible for Biden to have a more sycophantic and gleeful media, even if he had paid for it. The undeniable signs of Biden’s mental decline were hidden from the American public in a style reminiscent of Roosevelt’s unseen wheelchair and Soviet airbrushed images.

Biden’s economic achievements have been a continuous series of cheerful preliminary reports, followed weeks later by “revised” reports showing miniature gains or even losses.

What Biden isn’t talking about is how Trump managed to get his message out despite having none of the official levers of power and facing a relentlessly hostile media.

His plan to put Trump in prison failed.

The one part of this story that cannot be talked about enough is Biden’s admission that there was a political motive in the multiple prosecutions of President Trump.

Privately, Biden also said he should have chosen someone other than Merrick Garland as attorney general, complaining about the Justice Department’s slowness under Garland in prosecuting Trump and its aggressiveness in prosecuting Biden’s son Hunter, according to people familiar with it are familiar with his comments.

Biden was persuaded, and some Democrats believe the decision had devastating consequences. Had the Justice Department more quickly prosecuted Trump for allegedly attempting to overturn the 2020 election and overturning classified documents, the former president might have faced a politically damaging trial before the election. (Others blame the Supreme Court and a Trump-appointed judge in Florida for repeatedly siding with the former president and delaying proceedings; the Justice Department declined to comment.)

It’s pretty incredible to read in print that part of Biden’s political strategy to win re-election was to put his opponent in prison. This is likely to result in long prison sentences for Biden, Merrick Garland and Jack Smith, financially ruining them and their families in the process.

Robert Gates was right.

Former Defense Secretary Robert Gates once said of Biden: “I think he has been wrong on almost every major foreign policy and national security issue for the last four decades.” We can add economic and domestic policy issues and another decade to that list.

Despite the deeply dishonest efforts to explain Biden 14th greatest US president— Obama was 7th, Clinton 12th and Reagan 16th — nothing will change the fact that Biden left the country weaker economically, domestically, diplomatically and militarily than he received it. Voters removed him from office in a near landslide because they could see what our elites refuse to admit.
