Elon Musk took another swipe at Justin Trudeau after the disgraced Canadian prime minister sought to take a definitive stand against President-elect Donald Trump’s rhetoric that the United States could absorb the Great White North.
Last month, Trump sparked the entire controversy when he sharply criticized Trudeau for being upset about his possible threat of tariffs to convince northern leaders to tighten border security.
Trump joked: “If Canada can’t survive without ripping off the US to the tune of $100 billion a year, then maybe Canada should become the 51st state and Trudeau could be its governor.”
Since then, the 47th President has repeatedly reprimanded Trudeau on social media. And Justin felt the need to step on the gas.
“There is absolutely no chance of Canada becoming part of the United States,” Trudeau said Posted on X.
After Trudeau’s resignation, Trump reacts to the huge announcement
Musk, who was nominated alongside former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy to lead the newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), took a swipe at Trudeau over the overdue night/early morning comments.
“Girl, you’re not the governor of Canada anymore, so it doesn’t matter what you say,” he retorted.
Murder. First degree. (Metaphorically speaking: fact checker).

Not quite yet, Elon. Soon.
Trudeau announced his intention to resign as both leader of the Liberal Party and Prime Minister of Canada on January 7, 2025. However, he will remain in office until a up-to-date party leader is appointed.
Canada’s Parliament has been adjourned until March 24, meaning Trudeau will remain in his role for a while while the party finds a up-to-date leader.
When Trump and Musk heard the news of Trudeau’s resignation, they celebrated.
“Many people in Canada LOVE being the 51st state,” said the up-to-date president on Truth Social. “The United States can no longer tolerate the massive trade deficits and subsidies that Canada needs to stay afloat. Justin Trudeau knew this and resigned.”
Musk referred to the resignation and said: “2025 is looking good.”

Trudeau has had a arduous time. Aside from being a constant barrage of Trump and Musk on social media, he couldn’t even escape the scorn and ridicule during a ski vacation in British Columbia.
A few weeks ago, a video went viral in which a woman confronted Trudeau as he happily approached to shake hands at a ski resort, and she promptly told him, “Please get the hell out of B.C.”
“Have a nice day, ma’am,” he said, backing away politely, prompting the woman to reply, “Yes, you suck.

While kicking Trudeau while he’s down should be a national pastime, it’s vital to remember why we’re here. RedState’s Jennifer Oliver O’Connell reported on the president-elect explaining how Canada betrayed the United States.
Trump said he intended to exploit “economic force” to force Canada to comply.
Trump Presser: Why we shouldn’t subsidize Canada with $200 billion
“Here’s the problem with Canada…” Trump told reporters. “So many friends up there, I love the Canadian people, they are amazing. But we spend hundreds of billions every year to protect it. We spend hundreds of billions every year taking care of Canada.”
“We lose on trade deficits,” he added, pointing out that America imports cars and lumber there when we can compete in those industries.
“We don’t need anything they have. We don’t need their dairy products, we have more than them. We don’t need anything,” he said. “So why are we losing $200 billion or more a year to protect Canada?”
This is an vital question. Hopefully Canada’s up-to-date Prime Minister (or Governor) will understand that Trump is solemn – whitewashing the US taxpayer will no longer be tolerated.
