One of the main issues that Americans voted Donald Trump back into office for was closing the southern border and deporting millions of illegal immigrants that the Biden administration has allowed into the country. Trump and his border czar Tom Homan plan to do just that. Blue cities and states have already vowed to fight the fresh Trump administration’s efforts. But while they call themselves the “resistance,” shelters in these cities and states are filling not only with illegal immigrants but also with rampant crime.

These shelters include those funded by the state government and reserved for families in the blue state of Massachusetts. There have been several incidents since at least 2022 solemn crimes such as child rape, Drugs, physical assaults and other crimes. Like other blue states, Massachusetts has allocated millions of taxpayer dollars to housing illegal immigrants. Records from the Massachusetts Executive Office for Housing and Livable Communities show thousands of pages of so-called “serious reports”.

Among the worst incidents was a man who was charged with drug trafficking when police discovered he was carrying about 900 pills, 30 grams of cocaine and ammunition. In June this year, a girl was almost kidnapped while taking out the trash. There was one alleged sexual assault involving a child, and perhaps most heinous: a father who sexually assaulted his daughter both on her trip to the United States and after she arrived, impregnating her.

Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healy (D) is somewhat reluctant to call her state a sanctuary state, but there are many sanctuary cities in the state. Boston is one of them. In 2024, the Boston Police Department 15 civil law applications received from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) requesting cooperation with people facing deportation. Everyone was rejected.

In a state where it’s demanding to find a Republican, Amy Carnevale is the GOP chairwoman. She said of the crime in the shelters:

“I cannot emphasize enough that what is happening in these migrant shelters is worse than anyone can imagine and has continued unabated for years. The Healey-Driscoll administration has overseen a federally funded humanitarian crisis funded entirely by taxpayer dollars, and now it wants even more money to maintain this broken system.”

Healy ordered shelter inspections after a Haitian man was arrested in March 2024 for allegedly raping a disabled minor at a hotel housing immigrants; A Dominican man was arrested for possessing an AR-15 and thousands of dollars worth of drugs at an animal shelter. Carnevale said of the inspections:

“Inspections may reveal more horrors, but they do not solve the root problem: the overly generous right to housing in Massachusetts, which has become a magnet for migrants and illegal aliens worldwide.”

Aside from Boston and other individual cities, Governor Healy is one of the few blue city mayors/governors who swore to fight Trump’s mass deportations after taking office. While a recent MSNBC interview, When asked if the Massachusetts State Police would cooperate with the Trump administration on deportation efforts, she said:

Absolutely not. There are many other ways in which people will and must act for the good of their state and its residents. Every tool at our disposal must be used to protect our citizens, our residents and our States, and in any case to uphold the line of democracy and the rule of law.

Democrats have spent Joe Biden’s entire presidency lecturing us about how “humane” it is to allow millions of people into the country who will end up living in deplorable conditions. Do you agree that out-of-control crimes are taking place in illegal immigrant shelters, including sexual assaults on juvenile girls and women? Luckily, maybe not in Massachusetts. In November, Healy announced that the state would stop using hotels and move illegal immigrants from shelters to more reliable housing.

That may be a good start, Governor, but working with ICE to benefit Americans living in your state could also assist.
