I have to admit, when I wrote about John Fetterman when he was running for Senate, I was pretty brutal.
He has certainly exceeded any possible expectations I could have had of him as a Democrat in this position. I was afraid of profound progress. Instead, at least in his comments, he has been more moderate, pushing to unite with Republicans on issues, something that seems to be sporadic these days when most Democrats are completely out of their minds with far-left craziness.
Fetterman even hinted that he would support some of President Donald Trump’s nominees for his administration. As we previously reported, he supported the Laken Riley Act and indicated he would vote for Sean Duffy, Trump’s nominee for transportation secretary. Duffy’s confirmation hearing is January 15.
NEW: John Fetterman says if Senate Democrats can’t get seven votes to pass the Laken Riley Act, then “that’s why we lost.”

Fetterman made it clear that he would be his own man and “no one is my gatekeeper.” He said he would even visit Trump at Mar-a-Lago to have a conversation.

But that wasn’t enough for the media. They tracked him to his Senate office and harassed him about news of a visit to Mar-a-Lago. Fetterman was a little annoyed by her pressure: “What are we talking about here?” and so he responded with a joke.
“I demand that I be made Pope of Greenland,” he quipped.
Our @JoeKhalilTV was able to catch up @JohnFetterman after @NewsNation confirmed he will travel to Mar-a-Lago to meet with President-elect Trump.

NewsNation’s Joe Khalil agreed, asking if Fetterman had the resume to become pope. Fetterman said he just wanted to talk to Trump.
Translation? There’s no substantial secret, it’s just a conversation. He said he was not just the “Senator of the Democrats,” but the senator of “everyone in Pennsylvania.” That’s a great response, but it seems few Democrats feel that way, especially when insulting Trump supporters. Fetterman’s attitude is as it should be.
I’m not just a Democratic senator – I’m a senator of all Pennsylvanians.
It’s my job to find common ground and deliver results for everyone.
And because no one is my gatekeeper, I will meet with anyone to score some victories, including President Trump. pic.twitter.com/H6MhmYBJXd

But of course it causes some on the left to collapse. How dare he actually be polite and refer to him as “Hitler” for the good of the American people? The left can’t think along these lines because it’s always about the crazy agenda/trying to control things. They just can’t let go of the attack narrative.
People had thoughts and images.

But Fetterman might have a problem with being pope in Greenland. It’s really chilly there and I think he should wear long pants. Therefore, he might not get the appointment.
