An incredible scene took place at the Georgia Capitol on Thursday, all captured on video.

North Georgia Senator Colton Moore was knocked down and arrested for attempting to break into the House chamber in the Georgia state capitol. Moore was banned from the chamber following comments made about House Speaker David Ralston

Moore called Ralston “one of the most corrupt Georgia leaders we will ever see in my lifetime” as senators considered a resolution to name a building at the University of North Georgia after him. Moore said this while Ralston’s family was present and watching from the Senate balcony. That prompted Ralston’s successor, Republican House Speaker Jon Burns of Newington, to denounce Moore’s words and ban him from the House floor.

Moore said Burns’ order was unlawful and posted on

“Pursuant to Article III, Section 4, Paragraph I of the Georgia Constitution, we are in a mandatory legislative session. Any conduct by a Speaker, public official or public employee that is inconsistent with our state constitution based on the supremacy doctrine is, without duress, void.

True to his word, Moore attempted to gain entry to the House floor but was blocked by security officers. A man pushed him to the ground. When he was back on his feet, another man told him that things had gone too far, which Moore agreed with.

“It’s gone too far,” Moore said. “I have a duty to be in this room. I represent 200,000 people in northwest Georgia who duly elected me to be here today.”

Police officers soon surrounded him, and even though he told them he was allowed in, they arrested him and took him to the Fulton County Jail, which, as you will recall, was the same jail they took Donald Trump to. As Moore’s team noted in its X post about the incident, it is currently working to get Moore released.

You may remember Moore as the man who sparked the investigation into Fani Willis, the corrupt Fulton County prosecutor who targeted Trump. Moore was indefinitely suspended from the GOP caucus after the caucus said his call for the investigation “knowingly misled people across Georgia and our country, causing unnecessary tension and hostility while harming his caucus colleagues and theirs.” Putting families at risk of personal harm.”

Moore had called Republicans who disagreed with the Willis investigation “RINOs” and encouraged his supporters to pressure them to investigate Willis. This was apparently too much for Georgia Republicans to tolerate.

Moore and the Georgia Republican Party are apparently not on amiable terms, which resulted in them barring him from speaking during official legislative business and him being pressured to speak by security.
