One of the better things about seeing the Biden administration in the national rearview mirror is the return to some sanity for our soldiers. One aspect of this lies in a bill currently being discussed, introduced by Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), among others, which promises not only reinstatement but also back pay for American servicemen and women who have been discharged Refusal of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Two Republicans are introducing legislation that would allow discharged service members to have control over the military Covid-19 vaccination They demand a chance to get their jobs back and receive back pay.
The AMERICANS Act, introduced by Sen. Ted Cruz, Rep. Pat Harrigan, R-Texas, R-Texas, R-Texas, R-Texas, prohibits the Pentagon from imposing additional COVID-19 vaccine requirements without congressional approval.
It would offer reinstatement to all service members who were discharged solely because of their refusal to take the COVID vaccination and count the period of their involuntary separation as pension benefits.
It would also restore the rank of all people downgraded due to the vaccination requirement and offer them back pay and benefits for any compensation they lost as a result of their downgrade.
For those who do not wish to re-enter the service, this would reset their discharge to “honorable” in order to restore their GI Bill and health benefits.
The bill would restore rank and benefits to a significant number of military personnel who were wrongfully discharged in this matter.
In August 2021, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin announced a requirement that troops complete the COVID-19 vaccination for “readiness” purposes. That order was repealed in January 2023 after lawmakers asked the Pentagon to do so in the annual defense policy bill passed by Congress for that year.
In the year and a half that the order was in effect, more than 8,400 soldiers were separated. Thousands of others sought religious or medical exemptions.
There is long-standing precedent requiring some vaccinations before exploit, but these usually apply to regional problems such as malaria. American forces had to intervene in the Second World War in the Pacific Atabrine as malaria prophylaxis. Before deploying to Operation Desert Storm, American troops were given a controversial task Anthrax vaccinewhich may be linked to stern side effects.

However, in the case of COVID-19, this was not only a requirement for deployment but also for remaining in service, it was also an experimental vaccine with fresh technology that was distributed under an emergency exploit exemption. The Pentagon, as noted above, was ordered to lift the requirement, but to date no action has been taken to reinstate or compensate service members expelled for refusing the shot.

Military members who refused the COVID “vaccination” would get their jobs back, as well as their pay, under the fresh GOP bill.https://t.co/fr7KGeHnTN

It’s unclear how many service members will choose to reenlist after being treated so poorly by the Biden administration, but at least this bill provides some compensation for the men and women who were so badly affected by these policies.
