In any case, 2024 was not a good year to be a Democrat. You had exposed Joe Biden’s dementia, which you had tried so stiff to cover up, during a presidential debate. Then Nancy Pelosi tried to assist you and pushed Joe Biden out the door. Then it turned out that your replacement candidate, who would have been so many “firsts,” was a word salad fanatic who often made Joe Biden look coherent. Finally, when you tried to pressure the American people on an unprecedented scale and insisted that they agree to your crazy ideas, they firmly rejected them. Yes, it wasn’t a good year.

But all that is over now. In the immortal words of Minnesota First Lady Gwen Walz, it’s time for Democrats to “turn the page” (insert arm gestures here). The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is is preparing to elect a recent chairman after current leader Jaime Harrison said he would not seek re-election. Among the candidates for the post is Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party Chairman Ken Martin. Martin was at a recent forum when he expressed the source of wisdom that if he were to become DNC chairman, he would only accept money from “good billionaires.” He explained:
“There are a lot of good billionaires who have been on the Democratic side and share our values, and we will take their money. “But we won’t take money from these bad billionaires.”

Martin’s comments came as he and the other candidates reacted in response to comments from former President Joe Biden During his farewell speech about a so-called “oligarchy” taking shape in America, he stated:
“This is a dangerous concern and this is a dangerous concentration of power in the hands of a super-rich few and the dangerous consequences if their abuse of power goes unchecked. Today an oligarchy is taking away democracy, our basic rights and freedoms and a fair chance for everyone to get ahead.”
Watching millionaires warn me about the dangers of billionaires is like watching a bank robber warn me about a thief.

The true meaning of Martin’s comments is effortless to see. Who are the “good billionaires”? Well, these are the billionaires who agree with the Democrats. It’s also an admission of a gigantic box of sour grapes. This has been the case since the election of Donald Trump There was a steady stream of billionaires who used to support Democrats, traveled to Mar-a-Lago. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon, the parent company of Google, Sergey Brin, co-founder of Alphabet, Inc., and CEO Sundar Pichai, Elon Musk and even Bill Gates. At their core, these people are tech and business giants who watched as the Democratic Party became increasingly out of touch with and alienated from the American people, the very people who are their customers. When you look at the bigger picture, it’s not stiff to see why they decided to take a second look at Donald Trump and the Republicans. In the end, the Democrats have no one to blame but themselves.
Make no mistake, none of these people, with the possible exception of Musk, are going to become die-hard Republicans any time soon. But with Republicans taking control of both the House and Senate, Zuckerberg may have been the first to see the writing on the wall when he announced it was meta Get rid of fact checkers. He added that the company is returning to its “roots” and focusing on reducing errors, simplifying our policies and restoring free expression on our platforms. Zuckerberg and other tech titans apparently recognized the long-term benefits of playing nice with the Trump administration generous sums donated to Trump’s inaugural fund at the end of last year. Especially since Trump is not expected to relax any form of censorship.
Fortunately, before leaving office, Joe Biden helped everyone understand who Democrats might consider a “good billionaire.” On January 4, he presented the Presidential Medal of Freedom to far-left Democratic megadonor George Soros.
Phew! I’m glad the Democrats sorted this out for us. The election of the recent DNC chair and other officers will take place on February 1st.
