Liz Cheney’s pardon from former President Joe Biden may keep her sultry at night as she wanders the frozen political wasteland of her own creation, but she may not want to become too complacent about her current situation.

On Wednesday, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) said announced the formation of a new J6 subcommittee that will be tasked with continuing the investigation of “all events before and after January 6th.” This new committee replaces the Oversight Subcommittee of the House Administration Committee and will again be chaired by Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA). Here’s the interesting twist: It now falls under the purview of the House Judiciary Committee and its chairman, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH).

In announcing the formation of the House Judiciary Committee Special Subcommittee, Speaker Johnson said:

“House Republicans are proud of our work to date in exposing the false narratives spread by the politically motivated January 6 Select Committee during the 117th Congress, but there is still much work to be done.” We are establishing this select subcommittee , to continue our efforts to uncover the full truth owed to the American people. The composition and further details of the selected subcommittee will be announced shortly.”

RedState’s Bob Hoge reported on it in December Insights by Loudermilk and the venerable committee, which noted that it “concluded that A) the events were preventable and B) Cheney may have criminally tampered with a witness during the investigation.”

Moving the J6 Subcommittee from the House Oversight and Reform Committee to the House Judiciary Committee appears to be a significant shift, and is likely a direct result of Biden pardoning all individuals involved in the disgraceful J6 Committee. There are many Americans who want to see true justice achieved here through every legal means possible, and this could be an critical step toward achieving that.

After Biden presented Liz Cheney with the Presidential Citizens Award in early January – the second-highest honor that can be given to a civilian – an irate Speaker Johnson reached out to X to confirm that the House would fully fund the investigation to uncover the truth :

Johnson’s post continued:

The January 6 Select Committee manipulated AND destroyed evidence – creating a imitation, false narrative, all to hurt Trump. They even hired an venerable media television producer in a desperate attempt to legitimize what Americans knew was a complete hoax and a complete waste of time.

Rest assured: House Republicans will continue our investigation into this corrupt committee and it will be FULLY FUNDED to continue in the next Congress.

The pardons have apparently only further motivated Republicans to uncover the truth about the shenanigans, misdeeds and possible criminality perpetrated by Liz Cheney and her merry band of political parasites.

Jordan appears ready to restart the investigation, commenting:

“Rep. Loudermilk has been a leader in getting to the bottom of what the Democratic-led January 6 committee failed to uncover, and we look forward to helping him get the full facts across to the American people.”

Loudermilk is also in the starting blocks:

Leave your phone on, Liz.
