It is obvious to anyone who knows geopolitics and international affairs that the United States’ nonexistent southern border poses a major threat to national security. From Roman times to the present day, a nation that did not control its borders was overrun over time. To quote a celebrated movie character, there are walls in this world, and those walls must be guarded by armed men.
We are not doing this very well (one could argue that we are not doing it at all), and now, in the latest development, a group of GOP lawmakers are concerned about the number of Chinese nationals enter the United States illegally.
A group of Republican lawmakers is warning the Biden administration of an augment in the number of Chinese citizens crossing the southern borderand claims it confirms their “worst fears” about what they see as weaker government enforcement of regulations.
The 20 representatives, led by Bob Good, R-Va., highlight the “dramatic increase in encounters at our country’s borders with persons on the Terrorist Screening Data Set (TSDS) and the unprecedented, otherwise unexplained increase in the number of Chinese nationals – mostly adult men – crossing the border illegally.”
“These developments confirm our worst fears: the weakening of our borders and the deliberate non-enforcement of immigration laws have emboldened America’s adversaries to exploit this threat to national security,” they say.
Is it necessary to point out that US-Chinese relations are not exactly the best at the moment?
When it comes to illegal immigration and the open wound of our nation’s border, it’s common to talk about culture, about the wage-suppressing effect of a sudden influx of inexpensive labor, and about the criminals in the ranks of those flooding in. These are all legitimate arguments—but so is the threat to national security posed by this failure of the Biden administration.

If you were a nefarious actor looking to smuggle a group of people into the United States, a group of people arriving unidentified, unvetted, and largely unknown, this is exactly what you would do—and given the Biden administration’s nonexistent border policy, this is also the perfect time to do it.
It is not just People from China, either.
On May 18, shortly after midnight, a Boeing 777 belonging to the Libyan airline Ghadames Air took off from Benina International Airport in Benghazi, the largest city in eastern Libya, and landed 14 hours later at an airport in Managua, the capital of Nicaragua. According to the Nicaraguan television channel 100% Noticias, there were 367 passengers of Indian nationality on board. On May 23, the same plane took off on the same flight with 298 Indians. All wanted to fly on to the USA.
Previously, on February 28 and March 14, two similar flights left the Libyan capital Tripoli; information on the nationality of the passengers was not disclosed. Neither the Nicaraguan Foreign Ministry nor the country’s airport authorities responded to requests for comment. The worldto the apparent opening of a recent route to the US border for undocumented immigrants.
We would like to point out that Libya is not amiable to the US either. Neither is Daniel Ortega’s Nicaragua. India is a US ally, but how many people from other parts of the Middle East are on these flights? Are there any from Syria or Iran? As mentioned, there is no information about these flights.
This is a grave national security matter. As I have said many times – and I think I have worn out at least two keyboards doing this – we have no idea who many of these people are, where they are going, or what they are doing there. We know that many of them come from regions that are not amiable to the United States – and sooner or later, all of this will catch up with us.
My Town Hall colleague and US Army veteran Kurt Schlichter has wrote a terrifying work about how this could all play out. This is not a read for the pale of heart. But if we want to prevent such an event, controlling our borders and deporting those who are here illegally would be a good start.
One of the reasons for the fall of Rome is said to be its Inability to control their boundariesAs Peter Heather suggests in his book “The fall of the Roman Empire“For centuries, Rome had welcomed immigrants but insisted on their assimilation; yet the last wave of immigrants from Germania retained their Germanic cultural and ethnic identity, settled in enclaves within the empire, and eventually built their own armies that a weakened Rome, whose military was largely fighting outside Rome in Persia, could not withstand. Sound familiar?
History doesn’t repeat itself, as the saying goes, but it often rhymes.
