Washington (Nexstar) – After a day full of panic and confusion across the country, a federal judge temporarily blocked the freezing of the Trump government on federal grants and loans.
The judge asked whether the Trump administration could have the extent of their financing break and the Democrats had a similar answer.
“People are concerned. People are in panic,” said Chuck Schumer (DN.Y.) of Senate Minister.
Democrats say they have received countless calls from affected states, schools and organizations after the Trump government has announced freezing federal financing.
“This is what a king does. A democracy does not work,” said Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.).
The short-lived pause for federal grants and loans could affect research in the healthcare system, the educational programs and the support of meals.
Democrats call it illegally because the congress has already approved the money.
“As much as Trump wishes, a law is not a proposal,” said Senator Jeff Merkley (D-ORE.).
The Republicans wiped it off, especially since they said that freezing would have no effect on social security, medicar and grocery brands.
“This is not unusual if an administration takes the financing and a hard look at it,” said John Thune (ds.d.) of the Senate majority.
The Press spokesman for the White House, Karoline Leavitt, said that the president’s order requests a review of the means to ensure that they adhere to his instructions from the executive.
“It no longer means financing for illegal DEI programs. It no longer means financing for the green recent fraud, which has to cost American taxpayers tens of billions.
Officials with federal financing in the floating have to answer questions about how their programs promote diversity. The Trump administration also asks federal employees to report their colleagues if they try to continue these initiatives.
