The majority leader of the Senate, John Thune (Rs.d), says he goes out of candidates.
“He has views of some of these candidates who may not be exactly with us or other Republicans from us.
Thune made his comments afterwards McConnell voted against Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Trump’s decision to lead the Ministry of Health and Human Services.
McConnell, who survived polio as a little boy, said that he was voted against Kennedy because of Kennedy’s skepticism about “proven healings” such as the polio vaccine.
“In my life I saw how vaccines save millions of lives through devastating diseases all over America and all over the world. I will not tolerate the revival of proven healing, and also millions of Americans who ascribe their survival and quality of life to scientific miracles, ”said McConnell in a statement after he has voted against Kennedy.
McConnell also voted Pete Hegseth and Tulsi Gabbard, which Trump nominated to lead the nation’s Pentagon and the 18 secret services. All three were confirmed by Republican majority votes.
McConnell, who served as a Republican chairman of the Senate for 18 years, recently achieved a shot on Trump’s plan to impose forceful tariffs.
“It will escalate the costs for everything. In other words, American consumers are paid. I mean, why would you want to get into a fight with your allies? “McConnell recently told CBS News in an interview.
The senior kentucky legislator recently wrote in one OP-ED for the Courier Journal Trump’s “aggressive” tariff tariff “leaves the American industry and workers in large, persistent concerns”.
Thune told Fox that McConnell was still influential by the Senate’s GOP conference, especially with regard to national security issues.
“So when it comes to these problems, he has an oversized influence and a voice that we all pay attention to,” he said.
