The relationship between the Trump administration and the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has been on the rocks for some time, and this week there was one head. On Tuesday, Zelensky accused President Donald Trump to “live in this disinformation room”. That escalated the word war, and Trump replied by describing Zelensky as a “dictator”.
However, the tensions go back much further, with the Ukrainian President Trump and now the President of the Vice President JD Vance strikes during the 2024 presidential election and probably believe that Kamala would win Harris. Zelensky also appeared on stage with Democrats in Pennsylvania and mainly fought for Harris in Swing State.
In his most severe criticism of the Republican presidential candidate, the Ukrainian President also described Trump’s running mate JD Vance as “dangerous” and “too radical”.
“His message seems to be that Ukraine has to make a victim,” said Zelensky about Mr. Vance in one Interview with the New York magazine Before he flew to the United States this week to present his “victory plan” to the White House. “But I think we protected America from the overall war.”

That alone was probably enough to spoil all sympathy that Trump had ever had for him, but according to Foreign Minister Marco Rubio, much more has been taking place lately, which has brought us to this point.

Rubio: I think President Trump is very annoyed by President Zelensky and in some cases rightly so. Look, number one, Joe Biden had frustration with Zelensky. People shouldn’t forget it. There are newspaper articles about how he cursed him in a call, because Zelensky instead of saying thank you that your aid is immediately out there, what we do not do or what he doesn’t get.
I think the second, honestly, is that I was very irate because we have had a conversation with Zelensky, the Vice President and me. We want to be a joint venture with you, not because we try to steal from your country, But because we believe that this is actually a security guarantee. If we are in an vital economic undertaking, we can pay almost 200 billion US dollars back, and now we have a legitimate interest in the security of Ukraine. And he certainly said we want to do this deal, the only one is, I have to lead it through my legislative process.
I read two days later that Zelensky was out there and said: “I rejected the deal, I never told you that we didn’t.” Well, that didn’t happen in this meeting. So you start to upset someone, we try to aid these boys. One of the points that the president did in his news is not that we are not interested in Ukraine, but Ukraine is on another continent. It does not affect the daily life of the Americans. This certainly adds many previously unknown context to why the tensions have been shot so much. If what Rubio says is true and I have no reason to doubt him because there was reports that this deal for Zelensky was mutually mutually mutually made, the Ukrainian president really screwed up here.
I understand that this will put up with some people because they have an absolutist perspective in American relationships with Ukraine, which indicates that, no matter what Zelensky does, he is entitled to billions for billions of dollars in taxpayed weapons and aid. Fogged or not, the real world does not work that way. A president whose country is located on such a bad street does not have the leverage of publicly mocking a mineral law contract that would continue to support Ukraine for American taxpayers. There are Nothing Wrong with the United States who try to do something in return for everything it has spent Wasn’t free.
Unfortunately, it seems that Zelensky has got used to being able to play the press during the bidges in order to maintain empty checks without real mechanism to ensure that the Americans are repaid. It was a massive mistake to adopt this strategy to the Trump administration in order to be able to transfer this strategy. Donald Trump does not take care of pressure from the mainstream media or Europe. He certainly has no concerns about having a word war with Zelensky if the Ukrainian president made unfortunate comments to “hectare” the United States, as Rubio described it.
Not that Zelensky listens to me, but I repeatedly warned that this would happen. His mouth during the presidential campaign was unnecessary and arrogant. In order to continue this arrogance by expressing such a claim after Trump’s choice, the matter has only made worse. I understand that some on the right person want Trump to be the bigger man here and ignore Zelensky’s Slight, but I would counteract this question: Have you ever met Donald Trump? This is not intended as criticism, but as recognition of reality. So he works and Zelensky should have been intelligent enough so as not to press his buttons. Now everything is in the air and not a lot of wines to CNN or the EU will aid.
