The Democrat Senator Chris Murphy (CT) and probably others encouraged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to reject the prospect of a peace agreement without so-called “security guarantees” (euphemism for American military obligations).

As Redstate reported, a 40-minute press between Zelensky and President Donald Trump about the former, who was antagonistic and rejected throughout the meeting, was furious to ask JD Vance for the cameras. The Vice President had mentioned that diplomacy had applied that did not fit well with the Ukrainian president, and in a step that took up the administration as disrespectful, Zelensky publicly denounced the possibility of an armistice that would pause the war with Russia. A later tweetstorm from the Ukrainian president seemed to be freed.

One of the large questions was how we arrived at this time. What prompted Zelensky to go to the White House, with the feeling that he was able to harass the press in front of the press and make fun of diplomatic negotiations? A contribution by Murphy gives away the game.

Less than an hour before entering the Oval Office, Zelensky met with several legislators, including Murphy and other Democrats. Based on the wording of the above article, the Senator (or another person at the table) urged the Ukrainian president to reject a “fake peace agreement”, which represents a clear shot on Trump’s diplomacy attempts. At least these Democrats Zelensky encouraged to remain defiant in this position and we all know what happened next.
Participating in this meeting and with left -wing partisans who don’t want peace because they would look bad was a colossal mistake by Zelensky. He had to go to the Oval Office with a reconciliation. Nobody asked him to sign a peace agreement with Russia on the spot. Everything Trump wants to do is to have conversations. The Ukrainian heads of state and government would still have the right to reject ceasefire conditions if they considered it right.
That makes the whole thing so stunning. There was no reason for Zelensky to do what he did. Trump was ready to give the bag in a very Ukrain -friendly mineral law contract. No purpose served to chase this into the air. Details on a possible ceasefire could be published much later and not in a way that should embarrass the President and Vice President.
Zelensky has to understand that these democrats have no power. The bidges are gone and the Republicans control both the Senate and the house. Chris Murphy will not write Ukraine. Everything he and his cohorts can do is virtuous signal, and this does not win slaughter against Russia. If things are patched with the Trump White House, Zelensky has to accept this reality and stop believing that he can harass his way to American military obligations by appealing the press and the democrats.
Trump will only withdraw further, and he will never set up “security guarantees” that lead to US troops fighting Russia. There is still a way for Zelensky to receive urgently needed lend a hand for his country, but he has to stop operating as if it were still in 2022, and the first step in it, stop Listen to Democrats that cannot lend a hand him.
