Former MP Lori Chavez-Deremer (R-OR.) Is one step closer to the profit confirmation to lead the Ministry of Labor after the Senate has had a non-partisan on Thursday to advance its nomination.

The senators voted 66-30 for limiting the debate about the nomination and pave the way for Chavez deremer, which is to be confirmed if the chamber is imposed again next week.

Fifteen Democrats voted with almost every Republican member present.

Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky) was the only Republican to coordinate her nomination.

“In her public service, she put her to work to search for different perspectives and find similarities. … we need the Ministry of Labor to do better than what we saw from the Biden administration, ”said John Thune (Rs.d.) on Wednesday at the Senate. “In the past four years, the Ministry of Labor has been urging many mandates that were the opposite of Pro-Workers.”

Thune pointed out the actions of the department during the Covid 19 pandemic and a government rule from the bidea era that follows independent contractors.

“President Trump has shown his commitment to the working people of this country. Making life better for the working Americans had priority in his first government – and it will be a priority, ”he said. “It is a welcome change compared to the past four years.”

If this were confirmed, Chavez deremer is brought to a department that has around 16,000 full-time employees and possibly a budget of $ 13.9 billion for the 2025 financial year.

The former congress member was a rarity among Trump’s cabinet candidates. The opposition to them is not from moderate segments of the GOP, but from conservative circles.

This opposition was largely due to its support for the Pro law, which Democrats largely supported, which would facilitate to strengthen the ability of the unions. Chavez deremer was the co-sponsor of the bill during her time.

This not only helped her on the ground on Thursday, but also when she came from the Senate Committee, Education, Labor and Pensions. Paul voted against her, but a trio from Democrats set up with Republican members to put them over the line.

However, there were some overarching democratic concerns, since Elon Musk and the potential interference of the Ministry of Government Efficiency in the Ministry of Labor. During their hearing, Chavez deremer told them that they would operate after the “pleasure” of Trump’s wishes.

Chavez deremer, who lost her re-election offer in November, would be the 21st Trump candidate, who confirmed the upper chamber, which made it a priority to make his decisions green.
