Washington -The Top Republican and the Top Democrat of the US Senate -Grand Proper Committee sent the Trump administration a joint letter on Thursday, in which it is on gaunt ice with the Office for Management and Budget.

The dispute has to do with how the White House the Stopgap edition Act, the Congress Approved at the beginning of this monthwhich the Federal Government finances until the end of the financial year on September 30th.

The chairwoman Susan Collins, R-Main, and the ranking member Patty Murray, D-Wash, wrote in The two -page letter The way OMB approaches a section on emergency names is in a acute contrast how other administrations have implemented it.

“This (or essentially similar) language has been used in the laws for funds for decades, and it has always been interpreted in order to give the president a binary choice: he has to agree with all emergency names of the congress,” wrote Collins and Murray. “Just as the President does not have a veto with line elements, he does not have the opportunity to select which emergency expenses must be determined.

“This interpretation is in line with the intention of the congress and is the most logical and consistent reading of the law.”

The two wrote the up-to-date “piece of approach” of the Trump administration raises questions about whether the emergency financing, including the dwelling lines of 8 billion US dollars, will be available as an intended congress.

Collins and Murray seemed to imply that OMB does not correct the course for emergency designation, the work relationship between the MittelaGeCHUNG and the Trump administration.

The two will have to work together in the coming months to design the dozen funds for the 2026 financial year, which should begin on October 1st.

“We are concerned that sudden changes in the interpretation of long -term legal provisions by OMB disrupt the appropriation procedure and that it could make it more difficult for the appropriation committee to work collaboratively with the administration in order to advance the priorities in the name of the American people,” they wrote. “The collaboration becomes even more difficult if the committee is informed for the first time about such developments by the press than to notify official channels, as was the case here.”
