Charleston, W.Va. (Wowk) -West Virginia House Democrats met on Wednesday morning to talk about their priorities.

This includes the creation of plans to prevent floods after the floods had influenced various areas of the state.

The delegate from House Minorities, delegated Sean Hornbuckle (D-Cabell), said that both sides of the Ganges should prioritize kitchen table problems.

“We want to make sure people have food on the table. You can afford your light bill. You can have good jobs, have good schools, have access to health care. It’s very easy,” said Del. Hornbuckle. “We focus on these things first, and everything else will take care of yourself.”

Del. Hornbuckle says that they want to avoid problems that people put against each other.

“From the beginning we explained that we have listened to people in the whole state that we will have kitchen table problems, problems, no needle, no problems for political attitude or people against each other,” said DEL. Hornbuckle.

Together with the priorities of the party, they also demanded obstacles to the party. Inclusion of a call after cross -party cooperation, since both parties can bring ideas on the table that benefits West Virginians.

“And that’s why I want to make it clear that no party, Democrat or Republican has a monopoly for all good ideas,” said Del. Hornbuckle. “And what we have seen in recent years are only republicans. But our state has dropped. And that’s why we actually ask ourselves that we work more in a more cross -party way. So we will get ourselves out of this hole here in the state of West Virginia.”

Del. Hornbuckle calls on the representatives to work on minor politics and to aid their voters.

“And I am very frustrated. I am very frustrated because we see again and again that we have to wake up. We will wake up as a state. Wake up as a country. And put the small policy aside,” said Del. Hornbuckle. “It is ridiculous. Again, no party has a monopoly for all good ideas.”
