It’s another Monday morning after another weekend in which the controversial Joe Biden once again showcased the current state of his seemingly rapidly degenerating cognitive abilities.
And as always, the media – with the exception of the anything but mainstream media — jumped as expected on Joe’s Last vacancy like a chicken on a June bug.

Don’t get me wrong. Media – including RedState – must about this stuff. I mean, it’s the President of the United States, for heaven’s sake, who at any moment freezes in a state of complete brain confusion (I made that up, just to be clear), shaking his hands in the air after making incoherent remarks, or wandering around the stage confused after making a fool of himself. Who not do you want to see that?
But here lies the problem.
Are we also playing into Biden’s hands by emphasizing his mental decline at every opportunity? Are we continuing to fall for Biden’s “nice old man” trick, as conservative columnist Miranda Devine claims?
As Devine see itby doing so, we are merely “lowering expectations” and “generating sympathy” for a man who, guided by left-wing radical leaders, continues to wreak havoc in the America we have known for as long as we can remember.
Republicans should not fall into the trap of emphasizing Biden’s growing confusion, as viral as such moments are in a world amazed that America has come to resemble the final stages of Soviet decrepitude.
This strategy risks generating sympathy for a man who does not deserve sympathy and leaving him innocent for all the damage he has done to this country.
It also plays into Biden’s superpower: being underestimated. He may act like a doddering loser, look like a wax figure, and walk like a robot, but the president has an uncanny ability to exceed expectations when it matters politically.
“Whatever magic tricks he uses in his debate preparation,” Devine continued, “you know that on June 27th there will be a different Joe Biden at the podium than the one we saw wandering around Europe like a broken Roomba.”

To return to Devine’s point, the normally confused Joe will no doubt be amped up for the June 27 debate with Trump, no matter what drugs his advisers give him to amplify him if necessary.
Devine’s main point is this:
[Biden] continues to pass the tests imposed on him by doubters in his party who fear that most voters think he is too aged — which is more a polite euphemism for his cognitive fitness than a judgment on his numerical age of 81, not much higher than that of Donald Trump, who just turned 78 but seems to have boundless energy.
She quoted a “typical” observation from CNN:
Biden conveys an image of strength. He radiates energy and assertiveness. His voice is sonorous. He [is] quick to the point…an astute master of the chamber.
Oh please.
Yes, the straightforward among us know that the above “observation” (invention) by lapdog CNN is utter bullshit. But you know what? It doesn’t matter. By obsessively treating every Biden cognitive misstep as a major news event, it’s reasonable to assume that, as Devine claims, we are giving both the embattled president and the puppet media opportunity after opportunity to defend him – in front of an audience that wants his defense.
More importantly, their target audience consists largely of ill-informed ordinary Democratic voters who want to believe them. who look for every reason to believe them; who think that the conservative media is nothing more than a mouthpiece for Donald Trump, the devil’s spawn.
Whether you agree or not, Devine makes a good point. An argument that is largely ignored.
On the other hand, there is nothing we can do about it.
