New York Republicans asks Trump to restore funding for programs after school

MP Mike Lawler (Rn.Y.) calls on President Trump to restore the federal financing of the learning centers of the 21st century, which offers funding for programs before and after school, including those in his district.

According to the Afterschool Alliance, the learning centers support 10,000 local programs that serve almost 1.4 million children nationwide. More than 1.3 billion US dollars was assigned for the 2025 financial year.

States participating in the programs receive funds based on their shares in students with low income.

A spokesman for the White House’s office and budget said that Freeze was “an ongoing programmatic review of educational financing” and no decisions have yet been made.
