Charleston, W.Va. (Wowk) – Delegate Josh Holstein (R) from Boone County was elected as the next party chair of the WVGOP on Saturday.
Holstein confirmed with 13 news that there were two coordination rounds for the position.
In the first round, the voices were 57-Holstein, 55-wes Perry and 7-dr. Michael George. In the second round there were 63-Holstein and 56-Wes-Perry.
The appointment takes place according to the former party leader and trade minister Matt Herridges, who resigns from the position of the stool position in order to concentrate on his other tasks.
Before the vote, Holstein received the confirmation of the US Senator Jim Justice (R). Holstein said that the confirmation had been granted after a few talks with Senator Justice and he wanted to work on the Republican image.
