If you scroll through social media or see the news, you will see our members of the congress and the special interest groups that practically ask West Virgins to believe that the so-called “big beautiful calculation” (HR 1) is good for us. But West Virginians know bad business when we see one. This legislation takes away health and food aid and increases the costs for almost all of us – while they hand over huge tax cuts to the luxurious. And with West Virginia among the states that are most affected by program cuts, our communities will pay the price.

The tax cut does not hold up

Our congress members claim that the legislation provides tax cuts for families in West Virginia. But their demands do not consider the everyday life of the West Virginians. Most of the so -called “new” cuts they claim in their numbers are already available. It is even more critical that the number of dollars you quoted are misleading – distorted by massive tax breaks for millionaires.

Here in West Virginia, the floor 40% The households are expected to escalate their taxes compared to what they now pay Less than half as substantial of the “average” of Bill supporters advertised. Meanwhile the richest households the biggest advantages will be achieved, and 80 percent go to the richest 10 percent of households. As soon as they take into account tariffs and other provisions, independent experts project that 99 percent of households will actually be nationwide by 2027 worse on it financially.

West Virginians met cuts for health care and food aid

The true history of the invoice is not tax cuts – it is what these cuts cost. In order to pay the luxurious for giveaways, the congress has issued the deepest cuts against Medicaid and a snapshot in the history of our nation. In our state this means more than 50,000 West Virginians will lose your health insurance and 33,000 Danger to lose food support. This includes seniors, veterans, parents and people who have worked all their lives but reached hard times.

And these cuts have loose effects on us all, regardless of whether we rely directly on the programs or not. Instead of increasing the workforce by “bringing people as promised to work”, West Virginia is expected 6,000 Jobs due to a deep reduction in federal funds that are currently going to health service providers, hospitals and food dealers. Expert say Both wages and GDP will fall as a result of legislation, while public debt will escalate by trillion dollars.

Hospitals that serve a significant medical population will determine reduced payments and a higher, non -compensated care (invoices that are unpaid). Together, this is expected to lead to layoffs, reductions in health services, higher prices for private insurance and even in the hospital lock. Just this month a medical group in Virginia announced The closure of three clinics for health care in response to “the great beautiful calculation and the resulting realities for the provision of health care”.

Rising costs and hungry families

And while our congress members have promised that we have years to prepare, the health service providers are now making tough decisions, and some of the provisions will be felt immediately. The US Agriculture Ministry announced This month it is expected that the states will now start implementing up-to-date SNAP restrictions. This means that parents, veterans and older West Virgins are up to 64 years venerable and lose critical food support. Increases in hunger lead more people to food. In January, the legislators of the state have to deal with finding money in the state budget in order to cover the Federal Snap and Medicaid costs that the states are forced.

Add the tariffs baked in this invoice, and the everyday costs continue to rise – from food to household goods – while salary checks are not so far. Nobody has the feeling that it pushes more than working families here at home.

West Virginians deserve it better

Supporters of HR 1 would like to stop this debate as uncomplicated through tax cuts. This is because the picture is devastating when you enlarge: The luxurious continue, while families in West Virginia lose health care, food aid and jobs and escalate costs. Surveys Shows most of the Americans that this law benefits the luxurious at the expense of the rest – and they are right.

While the Fallout is already starting, it is not too slow to change the course. The congress can reverse the most harmful provisions of HR 1 and present a real plan to reduce the costs, strengthen health care and invest in communities. West Virginians do not need this – no further round of broken promises and handouts to the top.
