Huntington, W.Va. (Wowk) – It was 12 days since the personality of the public Charlie Kirk was shot at Utah Valley University, and since his death Kirk’s non -profit turning point has grown with up-to-date chapters at universities across the country.
Marshall University has been part of this list for the first time in some time.
The Student Branson Tolliver is the president of the up-to-date chapter of Wende Point USA Marshall University and said it has been taking a long time. Although the club officially started on September 17, it had wanted to set it up for months.
“The field representative for Turning Point was actually the day he was over,” he said. “So she gathered a lot of people, a group of people, and we signed the chapter charter a few days later.”
In the compact weeks since it was founded, the chapter at Marshall University has collected more than 150 members.
Tolliver said their goal was to create a community in which people can share their beliefs.
“We just want to give the voiceless a voice,” he said. “Perhaps people want to express their opinions, but don’t feel that way or they feel like an expelled.”
The second student Titus Hamm is the vice president of the organization and said that they were finally having a place.
“We already have a democratic group here, but the Republican group was actually dissolved. So that gives us a chance,” said Hamm.
One that they say will be respectful and promote a non -violent debate.
“We can only have a civilian conversation, just like Charlie wanted us to have it,” said Hamm, “because there is no sense of political violence or violence just because they don’t believe what other people believe.”
Turning Point USA has 800 college chapter in the USA and over 1,000 in secondary schools.
Both said great and Hamm, everyone and everyone was cordially invited to join their little movement. You don’t even have to be a student at Marshall University.
