WATCH: Bill Maher returns to form, denigrating the Ten Commandments as ‘stupid’ and ‘just a matter of God’s ego’

I have always been a firm believer in the maxim that “people revert to their old forms.” Although it sometimes takes a while, it usually happens. Whether in a personal relationship, in a career, or in politics, without enlightenment, divine intervention, or providence, people revert to their senior forms.

Today’s example is host Bill Maher, who said the following about the Ten Commandments on this week’s episode of HBO’s “Real Time”:

There is no morality in the Ten Commandments, hardly any morality. I found it. Okay. Really. The first four are all about God’s ego…

It may be summarizedso as NewsbusterS‘ Alex Christy did the following:

When it comes to HBO’s Bill Maher, sometimes you can take the liberalism out of the atheist, but you can’t take the atheism out of the liberal.

I would add: Even a blind pig finds an acorn now and then. RedState – this writer included – has published numerous articles about Maher in which he almost came across as a conservative convert.

But one thing is clear: Maher is a leftist through and through, and he will never change.

Did I mention that while Maher was trashing the Ten Commandments, his guests were conniving former Democratic congressman and current CNN simp Adam Kinzinger and disgraced former New York governor Andrew Cuomo? (Although, to be fair, Cuomo did slam Biden and defend Trump on the show.)

In response to the passage of a Louisiana law requiring the Ten Commandments to be posted in all public school classrooms, Maher not only attacked the law from the standpoint of the First Amendment, the separation of church and state, but also claimed that the Ten Commandments themselves are just a “stupid, ancient list from the Bronze Age” that is “all about God and his damn big ego.” (Emphasis mine.)

There are no morals, hardly any morals in the Ten Commandments anyway. I found it. Okay. Really. The first four are all about God’s egoYou shall have no other gods before me. You shall not worship false idols. You shall not take the name of the Lord in vain. Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. It’s all about God and his damn gigantic ego.

Number five: Honor your mother and father as if you had not figured it out yourselfThe only two laws are: Thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, then there is adultery, ha, ha, Donald Trump.

Bearing false witness, which is lying, and not coveting your neighbor’s shit, you know, it’s just a stupid senior list from the Bronze AgeIt is not about rape, slavery or child abuse.

While it’s one thing for a person of one faith to reject the tenets of another religion, it’s quite another to ridicule those tenets, let alone a public figure who often tries to portray himself as objective. Frankly, I’d say that’s beneath Bill Maher, but I’ve seen that left-wing leopard’s spots reappear more often than not.

The conclusion

It’s a fool’s errand to think that Bill Maher “gets it,” even though he sounds like he does a few times.
