The Biden team has released another heavily edited video in which Biden campaigns for re-election as president. And frankly, he portrays his Republican opponent Trump as the better option.

This video is about the destruction of Roe vs. Wade, in which Biden places the majority of blame on Trump because he appointed the Supreme Court justices who put the Court in a pro-life position and destroyed the ruling that previously governed whether states could control abortions within their jurisdiction.

Biden and his team focused on what Trump “says about your freedom,” and then quoted a Twitter post from the time in which Trump brought the ball back to earth after Roe’s death.

“After 50 years of failure, with no one even coming close, I was able to overturn Roe v. Wade,” Trump tweeted at the time.

“Two years ago, Trump’s personally selected Supreme Court justices helped Roe v. Wade”, Biden said.

The video then switches to “news reports” in which abortion is described as a “constitutional right.”

“Decades of progress have been destroyed just because the last man spent four years in the White House,” Biden continued. “We know what will happen if he spends another four years in the White House.”

Biden then shows the obligatory footage from January 6, because why not? Biden then points to an article from Rolling Stone, a beacon of journalistic integrity, about how Trump will try to ban abortion nationwide. He then uses articles from the New York Times and NBC News to claim that Trump will ban birth control and IVF.

“We are fighting extremism,” Biden continued. “Send me back to the White House, and I will fight with all my might to Roe v. Wade and protect American freedom.”

First, let’s get a few things clear. Republicans are not for IVF. The GOP supports IVF in general, but wants to make sure that a code of ethics for the embryos is actually followed. In fact, as the National review The National Republican Senatorial Committee sent out a memo urging Republican candidates to reaffirm their support for IVF:

In response to the Alabama Supreme Court’s recent ruling that frozen embryos created through in vitro fertilization (IVF) are considered children, the National Republican Senatorial Committee is urging its candidates to “clearly reject the efforts The government should restrict IVF,” citing opinion polls showing that the overwhelming majority of Americans support these fertility treatments.

In responding to the Alabama Supreme Court’s ruling, it is imperative that our candidates adhere to the “The overwhelming public support for IVF and fertility treatments,” NRSC Executive Director Jason Thielman wrote in a Feb. 23 memo to Senate candidates. first reported from National review. “By advocating for improved access to these Services, against restrictions and stresses the importance of supporting families on their journey to Our candidates can demonstrate compassion, respect for family values and commitment to Individual freedom.”

The same goes for birth control. Democrats tried to pass a contraceptive bill to get Republicans to vote against it so they could then turn around and claim Republicans were interfering in “reproductive rights.” What Democrats aren’t saying is why Republicans voted against it. PoliticoThe bill would have required religious organizations to provide contraceptives and gender reassignment care to their employees:

Some Republican senators who voted against the bill told POLITICO that they believe it would force religious organizations to offer both contraception and gender reassignment care to their employees, citing language in the bill that said protections for patients’ right to contraception apply independently of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act.

“A judge could essentially force Catholic schools and others to violate their religious conscience,” Senator Marco Rubio (R-Florida) said in an interview Tuesday, adding that he had not read the bill in its entirety. “And I actually believe that a judge could use it at some point to order so-called gender reassignment procedures.”

These claims fall apart when you take a look behind the scenes.

But overall, if Trump managed to set the stage for the destruction of a highly controversial Supreme Court decision that had stripped states of control over whether they wanted to allow or even fund abortion, it just makes him sound like a man who can get things done. Overturning Roe was something many Republicans thought was impossible, and yet it’s happening.

What else can Trump achieve?

A complete defunding of Planned Parenthood? The destruction of some of the most essential agencies? An overhaul of our tax code?

I’m not sure, but Biden definitely makes Trump sound even more attractive.
