Poor CNN anchor Kasie Hunt had no idea what was in store for her. If only Brian Stelter were still at the network, perhaps he could have prepared her for the verbal beating she would receive if she obeyed her “orders,” which is common practice on left-leaning networks these days.
Especially since the network hosted the first debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump in Atlanta this Thursday, she had to protect her company’s former headquarters – and damn, she tried.
As some of my colleagues here at RedState have pointed out, it, like the network in general, has somehow failed.

One of the things I love to watch here on the front page of RedState is when Larry O’Connor addresses one of these topics. Today, Larry talked about how Trump spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt had her microphone cut off by CNN’s hothead Kasie Hunt when Karoline called Jake Tapper a bit of a moron, as shown above.
Hunt had to defend Jake. Her generosity knows no bounds.

Larry, as always, does a good job of breaking this down and tying up a few loose ends that most commenters would miss. As bold as it may be of me, I felt the need to add a few points to his remarks with something I wrote here at RedState last week that I think fits well overall with what everyone is saying.
No matter how challenging they try, CNN is in a hopeless situation and I’m pretty sure they don’t realize it.
Which is fine with me.

Minnesota was the only state that Ronald Reagan lost. 1984 by 3,761 votes, which denies the Gipper a win in 50 states this election cycle. If Trump ties them, the Democrats are on the verge of an electoral debacle and they won’t like it.
While browsing, I happened upon an article that further confirms the view that Democrats are a little nervous about the way Trump and the RNC are thwarting them.
The main SuperPAC for US President Joe Biden’s re-election is raising millions of dollars to solve a problem that is troubling Democrats: How can they compete with Republican Donald Trump’s social media machine, which spits out a wall of viral videos?
The previously unreported action by the top-secret Future Forward USA Action underscores widespread concern among Democrats and Biden donors that he and his campaign are losing a war sparked by viral videos against the Republican Party, which relentlessly portrays him as too venerable and out of touch with the world.
Democrats say they must catch up on a battlefield where there are few rules and ways to control manipulated or misleading content before it reaches the smartphones of tens of millions of Americans.
The Palo Alto-based SuperPAC, backed by tech giants including Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz and LinkedIn founder Reed Hoffman, is raising at least $10 million to create a better understanding of the algorithms that facilitate Trump and his allies dominate vertical video platforms.
According to two sources familiar with the plans, there are also plans to collaborate with left-leaning influencers to create and distribute up-to-date content.
Biden’s team fears that Joe’s deficit is partly due to the fact that the Trump team’s social media is better able to spread their message. But that’s not the problem. The problem is Joe.
The tardy influx of people close to the Democrats, from David Axelrod to James Carville to the Cuomo guys, saying Joe must go is the first sign of a presidency in danger. These people are diehard party loyalists who would vote for Satan if he were assured of victory, and Joe is currently assured of nothing but a freeze.

Speculation about withdrawal from the race
CNN and Kassie Hunt have a sacred duty to do everything they can to keep the Joe Biden 2024 train on the tracks, but the locomotive of this train is leaking everything that makes a well-running locomotive run. Most notably oil, which in this case is just common sense – which most Bidens, of course, lack.
Hunt’s anger at her “colleague” Jake Tapper being attacked for his actions over the past eight years is just pre-debate talk to apply as an excuse for the possible failure of Biden’s campaign, because after this event, some Democrats will blame Tapper, CNN, and everyone else except Jill Biden. That’s the nature of politics, of course, but this time it’s different.
They can’t hide Biden in the basement this time, and I don’t even know if CNN has one. The network’s leadership probably thought it was a great idea when they planned the show, but after watching Biden freeze and babble over the last month, their task simply became impossible.
The only thing that could save CNN and Joe Biden is if Donald Trump pushes Joe off the stage when he gets too far off the stage. And even then, his poll numbers could still rise.
In the meantime, we can just hope that Kasie and CNN have all their cover stories ready to explain why they could never have guessed that Biden is as bad as he comes across.
