I always find it comical when members of the mainstream media try to claim moral high ground on a particular topic of discussion – because it usually doesn’t take long for them to prove that they are the last people on earth who should be lecturing other people about it.

This was the case on Monday, immediately after the incident on “This Morning” in which CNN co-anchor Kasie Hunt abruptly cut the microphone to Trump spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt as she began to talk about the well-documented anti-Trump bias of Hunt’s colleagues Jake Tapper and Dana Bash ahead of Thursday’s presidential debate moderated by Tapper and Bash.

As we also reported, Hunt fired back at critics on the Twitter/X machine shortly afterwards: explained without proof that “You come on my show, you respect my colleagues. Period. I don’t care which side of the aisle you’re on, as my track record clearly shows.”

As RedState readers will recall, Hunt used to be at MSNBC, where in 2017 she amused herself with the disturbing story of Republican Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky being brutally attacked by his neighbor.

“Today there are new details about the incident in which Senator Rand Paul suffered six broken ribs. This may be one of my favorite stories,” she said at the time. “Although of course we don’t know that … Senator Paul is obviously still fighting.”

Although they later he apologized Because of her testimony, the infamous moment followed her all the way to CNN, which she was reminded of on Monday thanks to Senator Paul’s wife, writer and adviser Kelley Paul.

“.@kasie celebrated the actual violence against Rand Paul on air. She called his attack and injuries her ‘favorite story.'” Kelley Paul wrote. “Now she hysterically calls legitimate criticism of Jake Tapper an ‘attack.'”

In another tweet, Paul accused Tapper and other CNN fakers who commissioned Russia collusion of inspiring the attack by a deranged supporter of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) on a Republican baseball practice game in the summer of 2017, which Paul attended and which nearly killed Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA):

Trump’s former Democratic deputy Ric Grenell also raised an significant point that CNN of course does not address:

While Trump agreed to the terms of the debate, there are still significant points to be made and questions to be asked beforehand, and people should not be afraid to raise them.

Another point in all this, especially for Kasie Hunt, is that the “respect” she speaks of and that should be shown to her colleagues is something that earnednot simply rewarded.

I’m just saying.
