“I don’t think this problem will go away.” — Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, RW.Va.

That’s right, Senator; it won’t go away until we get it full transparency. Public Law 119-38, better known as the Epstein Files Transparency Act, was passed and signed into law (November 2025) but has yet to be enforced. And if we invade Greenland, it may never be spoken of again.

As the reader may recall, President Donald Trump was originally 100% opposed to this bill, influencing Congress. He repeatedly called it a “Democrat hoax.” Incredible, he also explained“I don’t see why the Jeffrey Epstein case should be of interest to anyone. It’s pretty boring stuff.”

Possibly because of Trump’s opposition, Capito was hesitant to move forward with the bill, saying: “I don’t think we need congressional action on this, and that’s why I haven’t really voted on it. I don’t know if that’s an opportunity that I will have or should have. I think the Justice Department and the president are going to feel the pressure here.” She was right, but Trump fought against it and is still fighting against it.

TThe House Rules Committee considered it in July. But MAGA dominated the group voted to kill it. By Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., “Rules voted 5-7 to block the full House of Representatives from voting on my amendment for FULL release of the Epstein file. People are fed up.”

But even Republicans were growing tired of the shenanigans Trump and the speaker were using. A few weeks later, the House Oversight Committee took up the matter. Surprisingly, the vote was 8-2 to advance the legislation.

It’s obvious why Trump didn’t want the entire record unsealed. We have all seen the many photos of Trump, Epstein and teenage women. In 2002, Trump specified The following about Epstein, one of his best friends: “I’ve known Jeffrey for 15 years. Great guy. He’s a lot of fun to be around. It’s even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it – Jeffrey enjoys his social life.” Around the same time (in 2005), Trump was also caught on tape saying, “When you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything” and “Grab ’em by the p- – – -y. You can do anything.” Like-minded birds?

Over time, it became clear that despite Trump and Speaker Mike Johnson, there were enough Republican congressmen and congressmen of good moral character who would defy the president and vote with Democrats to force a vote on the Epstein Files Transparency Act. So Trump suddenly changed his mind and was all in favor of it, which led to its passage.

So said Speaker Johnson, another blindly faithful Trump supporter: “We have a moral responsibility to expose the evil of Epstein and everyone involved – absolutely – and we are determined to do so.” But then he came immediately withdrawnwhich creates an immense editorial gap by saying the House of Representatives has a “moral responsibility to protect the innocent.”

In other words, the speaker wanted Trump’s highly politicized Justice Department to have the ability to choose who is outed for pedophilia. And who remains hidden from the public for political reasons.

Given his relationship with Jeffery Epstein and his documented belief that he can get away with abusing women, it was obvious to me and many observers that Trump had never sincerely agreed to release the full records, despite the “pressure” that Capito mentioned.

Apparently his politicized Justice Department would simply find excuses edit embarrassing parts of the Epstein files that mentioned Trump. Or, even worse, make up an excuse to avoid publishing files that mention him. And that’s exactly it What happened.

Senate Democrats recently sent a letter to Majority Leader John Thune outlining this, “Jeffrey Epstein’s victims – and the American people – deserve answers, accountability and the truth.”

Now we need to keep the pressure on the Justice Department to actually ensure justice and accountability instead of having to end up with ICE etc. It’s up to Capito and her fellow Republicans, who control both the House and Senate, to stop playing MAGA and finally force the Justice Department to provide all unredacted files.
