The race to decide which Democrat will face Republican Congressman Riley Moore in the November general election was still too close to call early Wednesday morning.
Three Democrats are running in the U.S. House District 2 race. As of 12:25 a.m. on Wednesday, 98% of the votes had been counted. Morgantown community organizer Ace Parsi led the race with 17,640 votes, ahead of Fairmont teacher Stephanie Tomana with 16,830 and U.S. Navy veteran Steve Wendelin with 9,929 votes.
The Associated Press had not yet called the race.
The winner of the primary will then face Congressman Riley Moore, who was unopposed in Tuesday’s Republican primary. Moore was first elected in 2024.
This story will be updated once results are final.
