After his disastrous debate on Thursday night, Joe Biden and his team tried to spotless up a lot and curry favor on Friday.
Biden was in North Carolina earlier in the day, where he admitted he didn’t do well in the debate but tried to argue that he at least knew how to tell the truth, forgetting the mountain of lies he told. The worst of which was the claim that he hadn’t lost any soldiers during his time in the Oval Office, ignoring the fact that service members were killed directly as a result of his bad policies.
Biden also had moments of incomprehensibility and screaming during the campaign rally.

Biden then traveled to New York as part of his Pride Month celebration to attend a memorial event for the Stonewall riots.
He began with a strange jog and a sniff at Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY):

You know that with every group he speaks to, he has to tell a Joe Biden origin story explaining his relationship to them. In this case, he told the massive story of his “enlightenment” that gay men love each other:
Biden again tells the made-up story that as a child he saw “two well-dressed men” kissing on a street corner – which, according to the Washington Post, “does not add up.” pic.twitter.com/RvN9b9mdZy

Even the Washington Postt told this story “does not fit,” and that this is constantly changing; in one version, Biden is the father telling his son. That was very unlikely in 1961. But leaving aside the question of whether this is another lie, the question is: if this was his “episode moment,” why wasn’t he in favor of gay marriage in high school? In fact, he didn’t come out in favor of it until he became vice president.
His record is not at all in accordance with this claim.
In 1996, Biden, then a Democratic Senator from Delaware, voted for Support for the Defense of Marriage Act,It established that states are not required to recognize same-sex marriages performed in another state and defined marriage as a union between a man and a woman.
Two years earlier, Biden on board with a measure Republican Senators Robert Smith of New Hampshire and Jesse Helms of North Carolina proposed cutting federal funding for schools that taught acceptance of homosexuality.
In 1973, twelve years after graduating from high school, Biden told his voters in Delaware: his “gut reaction” When asked whether homosexuals would work for the federal government, he replied that they would pose a “security risk.” [….]
“Look, marriage is a union between a man and a woman, and states must respect that,” Biden continued at the time. “Nobody has violated that law, there has been no challenge to that law. Why do we need a constitutional amendment? Marriage is a union between a man and a woman.”
He also told the story of one of the men who walked towards the Hercules building, which was only built in 1983.
So it is just a matter of catching votes:

No, it’s not just one bad night, this is the everyday confusion with Biden.
What the hell was Joe doing walking around behind Elton John? Did he not know where to stand? Was he lost again? It seemed as though he looked down to find his destination and then realized he was in the wrong place:

Biden then tried to praise Elton for his remarks, and it seemed like John wasn’t particularly interested in staying and talking to Joe:

ELTON JOHN: “Huh? Oh.”

Perhaps, unlike Joe Biden, he remembered the story exactly:
Remember when Joe Biden was vehemently opposed to gay marriage for decades?
I do.
I bet @eltonofficial does that too. https://t.co/mjJYMPQ6n5
