The Trump team is wasting no time in closely monitoring rumors from some Democrats and liberal media outlets who are pushing for President Joe Biden to drop out of the race after his dismal performance at the debate.
They have jumped on these rumors and have already released two ads featuring Vice President Kamala Harris. Although other names have been floated, she will be the likely successor if President Biden agrees to step down and Harris remains in office.
One of the ads states:
When you think about the Joe Biden you saw in the debate, ask yourself one question. Do you think the guy who got defeated at the stairs, got knocked to the ground by his bike, lost a fight with his jacket, and gets lost on a regular basis can make it to the White House for another four years? And you know who’s waiting behind him, right? Vote for Joe Biden today, and you’ll get Kamala Harris tomorrow.

Co-Chair of the Republican National Committee, Lara Trump told Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo says Harris’ poll numbers are just as bad, if not worse, than Biden’s.
Joe Biden has said he’s not going anywhere. His campaign stated right after the debate that not only is he not giving up, he’s committed to having the debate in September, which is shocking. But Kamala Harris’s poll numbers are just as bad, if not worse in many cases, than Joe Biden’s. And so they have a huge problem. If they somehow take Joe Biden off the list and don’t have Kamala Harris as their nominee and try to put somebody else in, Maria, that’s literally against our democratic process here in this country.
A modern poll has found that no matter who Democrats nominate from some of the names listed in the past, the outcome is the same because the policies are relatively similar and that should ultimately be what matters.

Lara Trump added a key Point on the possibility of the Democrats replacing Biden with a more active candidate:
If they decide at the last minute to put someone else in the race and it’s not Kamala Harris, I can’t think of a greater attack on our democratic process than doing just that.
This is nothing modern for the Democrats. They don’t really believe in democracy. If they did, they would have allowed former Democrat and Representative Tulsi Gabbard to just during the 2020 debates and primaries. They would have given Robert F. Kennedy Jr. a fair chance during the 2024 Democratic primaries, and they would not have tried to silence Kennedy by trying to keep his name off the ballot in several states and not letting him participate in debates so the American people could see who is best suited to be the next president.
Democrats only mention democracy to scare people, but they don’t want to give voters a chance to hear people with different opinions, and even go so far as to ban candidates from the ballot. This is a direct threat to democracy.
