The Boston Globe has joined New York Timesand numerous other Democrats asked President Biden to resign.
It’s slowly becoming a song that is repeated over and over again. You know it’s the end when donors, huge donors, media, and even left-wing politicians criticize the president for betraying them and sinking the democratic ship with his stubbornness. Their cries fall on deaf ears and they learn what it feels like to have their interests put aside for the sake of one man’s political agenda. Welcome to the world of democratic rule.
In their letter, the Boston Globe’s editorial staff expressed their disillusionment and concern about the future of the country.
“The nation’s confidence has been shaken,” the panel wrote, and the question that remains unanswered goes beyond whether the president can win or not, but whether he can govern or not.
Both would be a catastrophe for the Democrats. There is currently no straightforward way out for them.
Biden’s legacy is at stake, the panel claims. “If he drops out of the race now, his party will celebrate him as a hero. If he stays in the race and loses, it will be a disaster for the country.”
While they are calling on Biden to step down, it is not that straightforward legally. And even if he did, there is no really good candidate they could expect to beat Trump. Vice President Kamala Harris is closer than ever in the polls, but is still two percentage points behind Biden.
She is not even widely popular among Democrats, and this is the biggest approval rating she has ever received, most likely out of necessity.

Nevertheless, the Boston Globe is hopeful about the other possibilities:
“A host of potential candidates – from Vice President Kamala Harris to the governors of Michigan, Pennsylvania and California, to name just a partial list – are lined up to take on Trump. All they need is for Biden to formally withdraw from the race and give his delegates the opportunity to cast their votes for someone else at the Democratic National Convention,” the panel wrote.
Even if the Democratic Party wanted to change its candidate, it would be very arduous if not impossible now. The easiest way would be for Biden to voluntarily resign, but experts say that wouldn’t necessarily create an straightforward path for someone to take his place.
The Boston Globe urged other leading Democrats to exploit their influence to save the burning ship.
Leading Democrats must now mobilize their forces to persuade Biden to resign, the committee wrote, citing former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, the Senate majority leader. Chuck Schumer, Minority Leader in the House of Representatives Hakeem Jeffries, former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and South Carolina Representative. James Clyburn, “the man who did more than anyone else to make Biden the nominee in 2020.”
While her letter is touching, the decision has been made. Biden is certain he will not resign. Republicans can sit back and enjoy the confirmation that everything they said about Biden’s health has proven to be true. Hopefully, this will lead others to see the true nature of the Democratic Party.
They do not have the best interests of the group in mind, but only the interests of the few at the top. This goes against everything America stands for, and it is high time their schemes were exposed.
