AP publishes all-timer study on Biden’s cognitive abilities that is burned to the ground

I’m sorry to report that the national press has no idea how to cover Joe Biden after he announced he’s staying in the 2024 presidential race. In one of the most insulting and ridiculous headlines ever, the sympathetic but inconsistent Associated Press decided to run this headline of all time.

Think about the process that took place before the story went to print. Five different reporters wrote this story (we’ll get to the plot in a minute). It was later sent to the next place and reviewed by an editor. This insanely ridiculous headline was then put on top. But at no point before publication anyone Pause in the chain and say, “You know, maybe this isn’t such a good idea.”

The reactions were, quite rightly, not exactly warm.

So what good are five headlines in the mainstream press these days? confused nonsense as follows.

He is often piercing and focused. But there are also moments, especially later in the evening, when his thoughts seem jumbled and he stops mid-sentence or appears confused. Sometimes he doesn’t understand the finer points of political detail. Occasionally he forgets people’s names, stares blankly, and moves slowly around the room.

Biden’s occasional lapses in concentration may not be unusual for someone his age. But at 81 and seeking another four years in the White House, the moments when he’s out of form have taken on modern meaning after his disastrous debate performance against Republican Donald Trump. The president appeared pale, gave nonsensical answers, stared into space and lost his train of thought.

Note the descriptors used. Biden is supposedly “often sharp and focused,” but his problems only occur “occasionally.” Those two lines alone justify throwing the entire article in the trash. The president hasn’t made a public appearance where he was mentally present in at least three years. The only time he is “sharp and focused” is supposedly behind closed doors, which is very convenient for a White House desperate to control the narrative.

Of course, even that (clearly false) talking point was discarded after the debate, as numerous leaks from advisers and even world leaders revealed Biden’s senility in meetings. The president’s struggles are not occasional, as portrayed. They appear to be constant, according to all available evidence.

So what is the AP planning? Here too, they simply have no idea how to react now. Some of the lines in the article Are pretty brutal about Biden’s condition. Yet reporters try to cover it up with caveats that suggest he’s otherwise fine. This is a dog that doesn’t want to hunt.

The problem is that the media is full of partisans who don’t want Donald Trump to win. This presents them with a dilemma. Should they try challenging to push Biden aside in favor of Kamala Harris, which is a risky strategy in itself? Or will they shut down completely and go back to being lapdogs in the White House? We’re in a gray area right now where they’re still trying to figure out the answer to that.

But rest assured, they will come to what they think will support the Democratic Party. My prediction from earlier still stands. Next week we will be reading articles about “cheap fakes” again. They simply cannot abandon Biden because he will not resign.
