I don’t know what they did to prepare Biden for the debate while they were at Camp David.
But whatever they did, he was bad before, but he seems to have gotten much worse since then. Whatever is wrong with him is accelerating, and now he makes no sense at all. It may be detrimental to the race to say he needs to be kicked out now, and that brings Kamala into play, but he’s just not competent anymore. It can only get worse in the next few months. Our enemies have to look at all of this, and it puts us in great danger. Even the constitutionalists who say, “Well, we can rely on the people around him” if he is impaired are not only wrong on the Constitution, they are just wrong on the facts. The people around him are the people who propped him up, covered this up, and are currently keeping him there. That is not shrewd or trustworthy.
Biden has said a lot in his defense since the debate, most of it either wrong or incoherent. But one tactic he’s been using is to say the media was wrong about him in 2020. I wrote about him saying this when he lashed out at a reporter who asked him if he should stay in the race.
President Biden takes action against the press:

But like many of Biden’s statements, this statement is not true.
CNN data analyst Harry Enten took aim at Biden’s claims about media predictions for 2020 and showed how bad a position he is in today compared to then.
Biden says the 2020 polls underestimated him, so why should we believe them now? That’s not true in the general election. The polls overestimated him.

As Enten points out, Biden’s statement is false. Polls even overestimated him in 2020, when he was nine points ahead at the same time.
His problem is that he’s actually in a much worse position. Biden was ahead in numbers in 2020 and is now three percentage points behind former President Donald Trump in national polls. If anything, Enten said, polls have underestimated Republican performance over time, especially in presidential elections.
John Berman asked how unusual it was for a Republican to be ahead in the national polls at this time. Enten pointed out that you have to go back 24 years to get to what we have now: a Republican ahead in the national popular vote.
Translation: Biden’s claims are just talk, and he’s in gigantic trouble. Trump and Republicans typically outperform the polls—and he’s already three points ahead.
