The Department of Human Services has lost at least 85,000 children who crossed the border illegally as “unaccompanied minors” after placing them with “sponsors” who may have trafficked the children into prostitution or forced labor, according to several whistleblowers who described the process to a Senate committee on Tuesday.

There is every reason to believe that many of the children DHS has lost were later forced into activities such as prostitution and child labor. One such case was described in detail during the hearing. It involved a 16-year-old girl who was handed over to someone claiming to be her “brother.”
A 16-year-old Guatemalan girl named Carmen was sent by the Biden administration to live with someone claiming to be her brother, but images on social media showed him touching her sexually; “it was clear her sponsor was not her brother,” she said. Soon, Carmen was shown on the sponsor’s social media with her shirt unbuttoned and under the influence of drugs. Her “sponsor” also posted child pornography on social media.
Carmen “was for sale,” Rodas said. “What keeps me awake at night is wondering if Carmen is safe.”
This is what a leadership crisis looks like. Joe Biden is not the “empath in chief.” He is a deeply selfish sociopath who only cares about what concerns him politically. Instead of doing what needed to be done at the border, which was to secure it and apprehend those crossing the border illegally, the president has made good headlines about child safety.
Fearing being accused of putting “children in cages,” Biden instead supported a government-backed human trafficking scheme that has undoubtedly placed thousands of children in abusive or even deadly situations. Where is the press? Where is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez?
Worse still, nothing seems to be changing anytime soon. In fact, Democrats were so upset by the appearance of these whistleblowers that they refused to attend the hearing (which had to be held unofficially by Republican senators). Biden and his congressional colleagues don’t care about child abuse. They only care about whether or not it will come back to haunt them.
All of this could have been largely prevented with an tidy and secure border. Instead, we are now facing the worst border crisis in history, and the consequences have been and will continue to be devastating.
